First off I must say that I would own a Gremlin and be proud of it! Very unique looking car.

But... but wow. I must say it's pure heresy to include the Delorean DMC-12 in this list. Let's just ignore the 'Back to the Future' factor. I've dreamed of owning this car. There is no car cooler than the Delorean.

The AMC Gremlin, Bricklin SV1 and the Mustang II I can understand, but I like the late 60's El Camino http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/attachments/international-automotive-scene/60427d1224090340-day-automotive-history-800px-1968_el_camino.jpg

This is also a good article on the 50 worst cars of all time. My Explorer made the list much to my displeasure but I can understand why.

Voxwagon beetle.

I always hated that design. It's really the curves I have an issue with. I hate it most in it's 'classic' yellow color. It's worse when someone uses pepto bismol pink.

I own a Scion 2006 XB which as the top of the ugly list. I love my ugly little box. No one wants to steal it and it is shaped to hold a lot of stuff.

I'm sorry, I call shenanigans on any "Ugly Car" list that includes the Ferrari Enzo. There are legions of "WTF were thy thinking?" automobile designs you'd have to go through before the Enzo would even be in contention. And a couple of the other 'ugly' cars are not really ugly, just obnoxious. Well designed, but obnoxious.

Ruveyn, oddly enough, I don't see the xB on that list, in either of its two forms. Even Toyota admits that the car is a love-it-or-hate-it design...

The Ford Pinto was worse than ugly....Some of them were rolling fire and death traps
because of flimsy gas tank design. I notice most of the cars featured are from
the 1970s....Ever wish you could forget the Seventies?

I was thinking the same thing. The 70s were the era of aesthetic dormancy.

I'm not surprised the Pinto is in there. Mike ends up with one in my B&J fanfiction crossover. I'm not surprised about the El Caminos either. My mom hated them.

Has anyone brought up the Trabant? In a world of capitalist car disasters, this Communist creation underdid them all...Wink

What country made that? I only remember the Yugo.

And what was the deal with the Ford Edsel in the 50s?

The Trabant was built by VEB Sachsenring in East Germany. I don't think it was ugly per se, but it wasn't pretty either. The main gripes about the car stemmed from the vehicle's mechanical underpinnings rather than its styling.

Mechanically it was a piece of sheiss.

The 70s were not good years to be growing up in...That decade started with the Kent State Killings,
Vietnam, Watergate, the beginnings of our present mess in the Middle East and they ended with
Jones-town, Three Mile Island and Iran hostage crisis. The only thing good to come out of the 70s
were the first personal computers. Granted some of them were junk but they were the start of
something great.

As for the 1950s Edsel....That was more than 50 years ago. The Trabant was what carried the
East Germans into the West when the Wall came down 20 years ago this week.....

Thank God I was born in December of 1979 then.
