I long for the lost days of my youth when i would go camping with my mum and dad... our schedules are so full of **** right now we don't have time to relax and enjoy the great outdoors. (d***it i sound like an old geezer, im 14 for goodness sake!)
But yeah, im a camper. I even have an extreme outdoor survial manual at home, that i bought from the school book fair 2 days ago. It describes in detail what to do in case of a hurricane, bear attack, plane crash, et cetera. _________________ If you are offended by my jokes, you have a lousy sense of humor. Hiking is great. You get to look at everything around you and smell the trees.. (well in some places) and fresh air... AND get really fit at the same time. I haven't really done alot of hiking, just a little bit of normal walking down south here and the trip I did just over a year ago when my parents and I went trekking in the Himalayas. Great!
Camping is also good but I'm not as into it because of the shower/toilet situations. And the food isn't always the best for me. Otherwise it too is a good experience. _________________ "A flower plucked carelessly and left to wilt.." |

Camping is great! I love hiking, especially in the Virginia and West Virginia mountains. I have spent many nights camping in the mountains with the Boy Scouts as a kid and with my parents. One of the things I enjoy doing while camping or hiking is just to stop and observe things. At first, if you just sit down in the woods, it appears that nothing is really happening, but then it starts coming to you. There's a breese stirring the trees. You hear birds singing in the trees, and you can see them flying around. You spot insects like butterflies and such. Squirrels will frequently come rummaging around, and even other widlife like gophers, etc. The woods are alive with activity. Watching the weather is interesting too, as clouds build and blow around
I enjoy observing things at the waterfront too. One can see all sorts of widlife from seagulls, pelicans, etc Below the surface, one can spot minnows, crabs, and other creatures. As far as human life goes, one can spot boats going out to sea, people fishing and swimming, all sorts of stuff going on....it's MUCH better than watching a television!!!
I haven't been camping in the mountains in a few years. I really miss going up there and long to go back sometime. I just want to take the trip with someone else. |

I love bushwalking (As I call it). I've been only on three trips, but I've loved them all. I intend to do more over time. _________________ I am a leaf on the wind... Watch how I soar |

I love camping, yet I don't have anyone in my family or that I know really well to go and do some hard-core/semi hard-core camping. I don't know why, but I've always loved the outdoors and was never really the "inside" type of person. _________________ I am a 19 year old girl who lives in Washington State and was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome at 9 years old.
