I'm wondering if my fellow aspies also have ramparts below their eyes, do you look tired? Also I have sometimes that people think I'm tripping or am stoned, anyone has that said to them?

Yes, a few times. I tend to lose a significant portion of my capabilities and appear stoned when I am tired.

I seem to be tired, most of the time. Daily life is very tiring for me.

Yep. I've been told that pretty regularly since secondary school - sometimes both observations are true, mind!

Seems insomnia and tiredness - both mental and physical - is a fairly common phenomenon amongst aspies. I think most of us find interaction more overwhelming than NTs do to some extent.

yep, I too have experienced this. every time I came into work when i used to work, co-workers always thought I was stoned, or sick. Doesnt help that my skin is always pale either, and that i am immune to tanning.

People always say that to me, and there are some people who think that I'm a drug addict because of my tired look. (I don't even use aspirin)

Yes, and the first time I heard it, I didn't even know what "being stoned" meant. It's usually because I'm tired or it's my normal face, but never because I'm actually high.

Ditto, word for word.

EXACTLY! Just dealing with everyday sensory input tires me out. On a good day I look tired on a bad day I look like death warmed over.

Count me in too, it feels like that with me too.... But only when i'm tired and exhausted after a very long socializing day... it just drains me out.
The only alternative is i'm eating much more than I used to... Its actually helped me abit :D

Also try eating more energetic foods and drinks, maybe that might help too...

Yes!
Sometimes when I am having a weird conversation, people say I just talk like I am stoned.

I look tired (and I am) most of the time when I go in the outside world (even when I've vitaminized myself! And at nearly 100% of the Dietary Reference Intake...). This year I'm more tired than last year because I must use a crowded tramway to go to university ; thanks to this 25 minutes unpleasant ride I'm already tired even before the beginning of my lessons.
I am rarely "fine", except when I don't have to go to work, or when I have (miracoulously) slept well. All of that being the conjunction of a maybe-soon-diagnozed AS and a not very strong physical health.

I forgot how much the sound of one's voice counts. I talk slower than most people naturally, so combining my voice with my face gives people the wrong impression of me.

I have dark circles under my eyes, and this has been the case every day pretty much my entire life. When I was a baby, random people would remark to my parents that I looked tired. These days I am pretty much tired all the time. I don't recall this being the case when I was a child, but I had the dark circles every day even then. There have been numerous times when strangers on the street have remarked on how tired I looked.
I recall a time in high school when I was walking home, and some random woman who apparently worked in a store on that block stopped me to tell me she had seen me walking past plenty of other times, that she had been watching me (!) and she could tell I was on drugs. She kept going on about how she wasn't condemning me, but I needed to get some help. At that time, I'd never even tried alcohol except for one time when I was seven, and I had a sip of vodka thinking it was water. I've never tried any recreational or "street" drugs to this day. I told her I wasn't doing drugs, and she basically called me a liar. I rushed home in tears, and told my Mom the whole thing. She knew me well enough to know there was no truth to that. My parents pretty much knew where I was at all times, and I had no after-school job or social life, so I didn't go many places. I described the woman to her, and told her where she worked. My Mom went to speak to the woman. This woman told her that I appeared to be on drugs because she'd see me walking past every day with my head down, seeming to take no notice of my surroundings. She told my mother that a car had almost hit me one day, and I had barely noticed. I think there were probably other times when people hinted at similar suspicions, but that's the one that sticks out in my mind.

I've heard that alot of aspies look squinty-eyed most of the time. I know I do. It feels normal to me. I also like darker environments and cool colors.
