In a recent interview with People, Dave Grohl commented on the upcoming film about his former band Nirvana and stated he hopes his character is played by a member of the opposite sex. The Foo Fighters frontman said the best person for his part in the film would be actress Shelley Duvall.

"I don't know about anyone else, but I'm crossing my fingers that Shelley Duvall plays me," he said. "Shelley Duvall in The Shining, that is my face, you cannot get any closer than that."

Duvall is famous for her part as Wendy Torrance, where she was chased around by actor Jack Nicholson in the horror film The Shining. The actress also starred in films such as Popeye and Home Fries.

"I am probably the least manly dude that you have ever met in your life, so why not have Shelley Duvall play me?" said Grohl jokingly. "Put a beard on her, Cate Blanchett did it in the Dylan movie!"

The film about Nirvana is said to be in the hands of filmmaker Oren Moverman who co-wrote the 2007 Bob Dylan movie I'm Not There. Publications such as The Boston Globe criticized the film for using Cate Blanchett to be one of the six actors to play the part of Dylan. However, some critics praised Blanchett for her work and concluded with statements saying she was "miraculously close to the 1966 Dylan".

I wonder how that film is gonna turn out. No Oliver Stone exaggerating things.

By the way, I took Grohl's advice and painted a beard on Shelley DuVall.

This is extremely tasteless, but I had nothing better to do.

Its been thirty years since The Shining was filmed. Does he have any idea what Shelley Duvall looks like now? That could turn out to be a hilarious 'be careful what you wish for' moment. Very Happy
