Thanks to The Premier Aspergian Singles List I have found the guy of my dreams. He lives in the UK whilst I live in New Zealand. Despite us living at other sides of the world from each other, we're making it work.

He's 19, and he tells me I have inspired him to do things he never thought he could do. He flew a 28 hour flight with two stopovers alone just to see me, yet he has never even caught a bus before. He stayed for a month and has now flown back to England to gain qualifications so he can immigrate to New Zealand and marry me.

I'm here to say that it IS possible for you to meet your significant other, you just need to try! I highly recommend online dating if you struggle to find a partner in real life. A long distance relationship can be painful and trying, but if it is the real thing, it will last and be worth it in the end.

Give it a try. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain. :)

Here is a picture of us together:

Well done! And he's cute too...
I met my partner online too, though he's what passes for normal...

Congratulations from an old fogey. Online dating is a bit of a b***h when you're past forty but I'm giving it my best shot.

I'm just wondering: how long did you talk online before he agreed to travel halfway across the world to meet you?

Congratulations! It's always good to hear about a success story. I read such stories on here, and I apply what I learned for a future partner. I don't mind distance if necessary (not very many people on here in Texas I connect with).

A month. Though it would take another four before I flew out.

Well I guess it also helps that you're two good-looking people...

congratulations you two :thumright:
really quite inspirational.

i'm working on a long-distance relationship myself currently.
I live in Washington state, U.S.
She lives in Indiana state, U.S

I would fly out to see her like Amadeus has with you, but i have no job & so don't have the money to  .
Funny thing is, neither does she. & we're both currently taking college courses.
But one of these days hoping one of us will have the money to fly out for a visit :) .
