I'm supposed to get a greenhouse, with bulk production that will be fun. Not everyone can get a greenhouse, so it can't happen to everyone.

If you live in the city, get a sealable jar, such as a pickle jar, wash it out, and grow a plant in it. Keep the lid sealed, and every few days, take the lid off and quickly stick your nose in there and breath deeply. Its wonderful.

You actually do have to remove the lid so as to refresh the air, and to water it, but it shouldnt take much effort, and will always give you something nice to smell. Use it as a treat when you are down.

Pick out little things you like, and give them to yourself as a treat. Make sure you limit yourself, as thats what makes it special. It doesnt have to be a reward, but you shouldnt give them to yourself each day.

This will give you some small things that make life bearable. From there, find larger things that will make you feel good.

And read this, as many times as you need to. http://www.wrongplanet.net/asperger.html?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=12656

I like to shake my fist at the world when i read it.

I hear ya. They don't happen to me either. I find myself being too logial to enjoy the things that truly enrich your life. The most beautiful things that enrich life are all illogical: friendships, love, art, poetry, religion, etc. I can never understand them or connect with them, logic covers my perception of life like a cold gray tint that I cannot see around.

ive been living in a bubble of hermitude and social isolation for so long that i forgot why i became isolated in the first place and the answer is STRESS. i cant deal with any degree of stress without feeling as if if someone put a gun to my head i'd welcome the bullet. i am trying to move house to a new city and i need to clear up my benefits situation and get more financial help because i wont have my mum as my carer anymore and its so, so expensive. if this is how i feel after 2 days of this then i cant imagine the stresses and strains of actually living on my own. i'lll have to go to meetings with people to get it organised when i'm up there and you know what these people are like. they think everyones a "welfare queen" and dishonest and thats not the case I NEED that money to live.

i'm kinding of thinking the whole thing is just stupid but then on the other hand i can see myself living with my 'rents for life if i dont getmy sh** together. right now there a neon sign in front of my eyes that is just saying "RETREAT". i want to retreat back into my cocoon of unreality. its a very sad and lonely place but at least it comes without the terror and constant stress headache. i dont want another nervous breakdown

I've got one word for you: Books! Books are awesome. They make life fun, bearable, and worth living, and they're a lot easier to get than friends. Another advantage is that they're much cheaper, too. Just get a handful of good books and keep reading them over and over again.

I find that Hobbies and Socializing help to make my life more interesting. I have three different Hobbies. I also go to my Clubhouse, at least twice a week. I enjoy meeting new people and finding out what their own Hobbies and Obsessions are. Razz

i've read a lot of books. i prefer music and alcohol. although none are that good that they make me have a strong desire for life

thats not to say that i'm gonna kill myself. i dont have incredible levels of bravery needed

car_crash

I am going through a similar process of government red tape myself atm. I got lucky and came across a good social worker who is helping me do the forms. The difficulty is the Psychiatrist I have been seeing for almost a year hasn't filled in the form very well, so I have to ring her office again. grr. It's like I've been talking to a brick for the past year, not a psych, because that's how little info she's put in. Spells Asperger's as Asberger's as well!

Then when you advocate for yourself they think you're too able! You can't win. I'm applying for the Disability Support Pension here in Australia before the July changes for which the cut off date for applications is 13 May!

But I am tired I have seen too many government/medical people in the past year it is crazy, and you have to repeat your story over and over due to privacy laws, even within the same government department!

grr grr

keep going car_crash let us know what happens..
