I am terrible at typing, constantly inverting the positions of letters ('invetr' instead of 'invert' for example). I would think this is just me being a lousy keyboarder, but when writing I am worse, I will invert the position of entire words within a sentence.

Anyone experience this?

Our brain is too fast, sometimes I notice that a letter in my mistake is from a remote word that I would have to type further in the sentence.

I have this problem as well. I am not a very good speller to begin with, but I do invert letters in works and I also chronically skip words in sentences. I have never found out what causes it, but it certainly is not keyboard skills.

I do this also sometimes, although I tend to think its because I am typing too fast but I don't know. Maybe some asies and autistics are dyslexic, I think dyslexic people are under the spectrum too. Confused

This is especially true when I'm writing. My penmanship is terrible to start with, but I invariably screw up the word order as well. I don't know that is is because my brain is too fast (as in faster than normal) but it seems that the translation from thought to words in my head to words on the paper is never smooth. Almost like writing is not fully connected to the thinking so some extra step is required that gets interrupted too easily.

Let me first start by saying that I consider myself to have at least average intelligence. Iím sorry I know It will eventually get oldÖ but sometimes I feel so dumb.
For some strange reason I canít remember how to spell things that have ie or ei in them. I blame it on that silly rhyme they taught us in school that said ďi before e except after cĒ I knew then that there were more exceptions to that rule and completely edited it out of my learning processes. I will write the word friend for example and spell it correctly but I canít tell if Iíve spelled it correctly unless I ask someone, find a dictionary, or just something that contains the word. I donít have the same trouble with the word either because it sounds like the e should be first. Does anyone else have this problem?

Is this really an asoie thing?
I thought it was just a normal occurance when typing fast - I do that letter inversion very often.

But I'm definitely not dyslexic. I have some trouble with the English spelling, but as it is my second language that shouldn't be too surprising. In German I would say that my spelling is near perfect. I do make mistakes, especially this letter inversion, but if I read the text again I will spot most of them.

Hence my bringing it up that it is worse when writing. If it were just typing too fast, would it manifest when writing as well?

Yes I do this all the time too, when writing as well as when typing. I'm also mildly dyslexic and often have trouble making out the right order of numbers I am looking at, or if there are several zeros, for instance, I can't seem to tell easily how many there are.

I have no idea what's up, but I've started doing this in the last couple of years where I rarely did it before! I used to be able to type REALLY fast and with almost no mistakes (120WPM or more), and now I'm messing up every few words unless I slow down a lot. I've started a habit of accidentally using numbers for some letters and vice versa. I mix up V and 4 a lot, and I don't know what connection they even have. It's soooo annoying haha. I'lll type 4ery instead of very and such. Also just inverting letters, or putting the beginning letter at the end, like rettel instead of letter. I've just had to slow down. I thought I was going senile at 24... lol

The biggest problem I have is typing or writing a wrong letter or number that either looks or sounds close to the one I actually want. For example, an "8" looks like a "B", but then a "B" will sound a little like a "G" that looks like a "6" and sounds like a "Z" ... and sometimes those kinds of typos happen even while I am specifically watching so they will not.

I do this a lot. I don't really think about what I'm typing in detail. I just take out chunks from my mind and continuously type while I'm doing it; it's hard to explain. My letters get mixed up.
