A little background for the new users:

On WP, there is a subforum for aspie women

And there was an aspie men subforum.

The men's forum was removed because it was said that it was abused by some users, using it as an adult forum.

There were several voices saying that it wasn't fair to do so and it's not the fault of all male users here, it's like punishing a whole class because of some naughty students and all the next generations of students who happen to be in that class.

However , there were opposing voices saying that there's no "need" for a men forum ,since all men's issues can be either discussed in the relationship forum or more likely in the adult forum.

I'd say this logic is totally erroneous , there are many male non-love/sex related issues that men can discuss about:

There are many issues that men can discuss about other than penis' size and masturbation:

-Shaving-related things.
-Body hair issues
-Men clothes
-Working out
-Masculinity issues (ie. guys who are seen as effeminate by other guys and how to deal with it , ie. guys who don't feel too masculine.)....
-Man-to-man bullying and belittling.
-Male beauty products
-Typical and untypical male interests
-Body issues : beer belly, small arms, fragile muscles...etc
-Father-to-male child issues.
-Male-to-male harassments and sexual harassment issues
-Male-to-male bullying.
-Male teen puberty issues (those who are seeking the advice of older males).

^^ Are those adult stuff? are those porn? are those subjects related to penis enlargement? No they aren't.

^^ Are those male stuff? Yes, they are.

There's absolutely no excuse why a men's forum shouldn't be there besides a women's forum.

Anyways, I was told by a mod that we have to prove that the majority of males here are with restoring the men's forum , so here I am , creating a poll thread (with no poll I know, because there's no gender restriction in polls).

So what we need to do is just posting a reply by "With" or "Against".

With : With restoring men's forum

Against : Against restoring men's forum.

I am going to do the count manually .

And let's keep it simple , just reply with a one word "With" or "Against"

If you want to discuss why you are with or why you are against , you can just post in that thread:

http://www.wrongplanet.net/postt151429.html

but this thread isn't for why's , it's just a poll.

While I doubt I would post to it, I can't see why there shouldn't be one.

I think it's pointless for you to build a case for such a section by comparing and degrading the women's forum. How tacky to quote subjects of posts! Is this is the kind of defensive dribble that will fill a men's forum? I hope not, but you seem perfectly okay with doing it in a General Autism Discussion instead of in a section more appropriate to hear issues related to the forum structure.

Indeed, this isn't about autism, it's about WP. Moving

I wouldn't mind a men's forum. I just think the effort put in to get it will far exceed the benefit of having it.

You always tend to over-dramatize, there was no degrading :P , just proving the opposition's argument invalidity. So relax, no one gonna harm your forum.

But we want our forum , so please... politely step aside.

title has 'Aspie men' --> Aspie---> aspie word is derived from Apserger ---> Asperger is supposed to be autism ---> so autism-related :P.

Politics , there was a huge female opposition against the men's forum.

female opposition + few male opposition > pro-men forum guys + pro men forum girls.

No , it's not a fair game , would you see it as fair if the concerned forum was the women's forum? or if the women's forum was removed because the majority of men wanted so (and who would win the poll due to their larger number)? Same for parent forum, LGBT forums....

No , only the concerned group should have a word in such things.

I actually think there should be one...
I don't see why woman would be opposed to a mens forum?
If anything I think they'd welcome the equality, and a place where they could avoid all the 'women only want NT jerks' topics if they wanted.

I thought we were talking about now.
Not something from the past.

anyway; i forgot to add my point.
just i wonder if you're missing out on support by limiting it to not
taking into account womens opinions.

You killed the traffic by doing this thought :? The number of users who visit the WP.net section isn't representative.

I agree, there should be a Men's forum, that doesn't have to be about sex. But this site has been overridden with sex posts anyway. You know who you are.

General autism is for discussing general autism, not the form of WP. WPnet discussion is for discussing the form of WP. There's still a link coming here from the front page of GD.

Put a link in your sig if you must raise visibility, but don't let us catch you spammin'

Let' s get back on track.

"With" or "Against".

No shady in-between grey answers please , it's either white or black.
