am i in the wrong forum or on the wrong planet?
someone i know told me he thinks i've got asperger syndrome. the reasons i believed him are:
1. my mother says when i was a year old my father went away for six days and came back with a beard and i didn't recognize him. i have a horrible time remembering faces and i'm grown.
2. i've had the most difficult time making friends, and could never keep them.
3. love animals like crazy, love music.
4. love the fan, clothes turning in the dryer, etc.
5. i rock and like walking on my toes. i was extermely hyperactive when i was in my twenties.
6. i'm absentminded, have a learning disability, stomach aches, and insomnia.
7. i like saying "when i was nine and two months and a half plus..."
8. i pace at home back and forth constantly and flap my fingers.
9. very hard for me to understand other people's motives, or read their expressions.
10. when i was a little girl i got into a conversation with my babysitter about people living in caves millions of years ago.
11. i have a barely existing sense of smell and a very strong sense of tast. i'm very sensitive to some pains and numb to others. i'm prone to temper tanturms.
12. took two tests online and turned out very aspie.
13. when there are too many sights and sounds around i get disoriented, confused and numb.
14. i like people who are not "normal", especially ret*d people, much better than the normal ones.
15. as a kid, i concentrated on the shape of words while reading books and didnt remember a lot of what was written in the book.
16. i have a very hard time expressing myself and explaining things to other people and sometimes when people talk to me i don't understand what they're saying. and i hate changes. i insist on a routine.
does it sound like i'm an aspie?

Yes, very much so. Based on the information you've written, I think you are probably on the autism spectrum somewhere. If it's causing problems in your life, you should definitely go in to speak with someone about it.

I would say there's a good possibility that you have asperger's syndrome, at least from what you wrote... You described all the major symptoms.

If you want to get a diagnosis, ask your doctor to refer you for diagnosis for asperger's syndrome.

Sounds like it to me, but you really should get an official diagnosis from a professional.

As stated by above posters, it really sounds as if You have it!
There's only two things, in Your list, i can't say i struggle with. And that's 7 and 8. (thanks Mum for learning me not to... - i think!)
So as diagnosed AS, I would very much say that if it's possible for You to get a diagnosis, You should. As there's at least some chance of getting help, with some of Your issues. But remember, getting a diagnosis isn't the answer, but a tool to understand Yourself, and thus work with Your weaknesses. - As well as, in some countries, getting some official support.
But, remember there's no free lunch! - If You get a dx, You'll have a label on You that can be a barrier in Your achievement of reaching Your goals...
- There's still a lot of persons out there, that sees ASD as a retardation! And the more competitive the environment, the worse...

But. Very welcome to the right Wrong Planet!! ! :)

Yes, you are definitely on the spectrum, at the very least. All you need now is an official diagnosis. It seems as if you have a lot of those symptoms...
