Just wondering who suffers with panic attacks.

I had three last night and am feeling a little down. Sad Sad

A panic attack is a period of intense fear or discomfort, typically with an abrupt onset and usually lasting no more than thirty minutes. Symptoms include trembling, shortness of breath, heart palpitations, sweating, nausea, dizziness, hyperventilation, paresthesias (tingling sensations), and sensations of choking or smothering.

Yeah I have had the above when walking in the past and I saw people. I tend to not
panic like that any more. A true panic disorder can come on for no clear reason and far as
I know I never had panic disorder. Again I remember studying all that before you were born trying to find what was wrong with me!! Sneeking into a college libray near my house trying to find anything I can in the 80's. God the internet is cool. Oh an unemployment rocks to. Otherwise I would likely not know about Aspergers or ADHD
if I had not quite my job 18 months ago.

No. In fact, one person commented, "You're always so... calm."

Yes, only if I'm in a situation where I am frightened, and don't know where I am, or when I don't know what's going on, I have to be told what's going or what's going to happen. I am rarely frightened or scared now. I am a man with no fear. *butterfly flies past, ARRGGHH!!! (j/k)*

Yup, panic city, that's me. It's better with Xanax. Do you have any anti-panic training, the breathing and so on? That helps me too. If I can recognize a panic attack in the first nanosecond, then it won't be half as bad because I'll know what it is instead of believing that there's something to panic about. Also I would know it'll end in about 20 mins. My panic attacks often start with a smell, and a sudden, sharp sense of What's That? and then BAM, panic. What starts yours?

I have them too - mostly when I drive, though medication has helped me a lot - I used to have at least one driving to work and at least one driving home and now I rarely have them . . .

At one point my life was a stream of panic attacks. I had to get out of where I was. I ended up living in my sister's basement. It was awful but safer. Eventually I moved on from there. Can you make some kind of adjustment in your life?

You've already asked a doc, right?

Have you got a social worker? (trust me on this one)

How old are you and where are you?

You have 2 options:

1. Do nothing
2. Do something

Agreed?

Can you choose between doing nothing and doing something? Even just on principle?
