I'm 24 years old and I can't help but feel that I'm just wasting my life away. There are a lot of things I thought I would achieve by now that I haven't done yet. I've still never lived on my own or had a full-time job. I've still never been in a relationship. There are still many places in the world that I want to visit. I don't want to die without ever having lived life.

That's dissatisfaction talking. Use it to help take you to those places, those achievements. Just try not to get caught up thinking about how you've not managed to do things, or have let other opportunities slip past.

Life is too short to regret. If there's something you really want to do, then go and do it instead of wishing you had.

My mothers last words to me were "Life is what you make it." This has proven to be very true. It is all in the priorities. If you are living beyond your means then you won't be able to do anything else. If you scrimp on things you will have the money to do these things. It is hard, but worth it if this is what you feel the need to do. You can always get a better place to live, better car, go to another concert etc... later. If the opportunity hasn't presented itself yet. It either will in the future or make it happen for yourself. You are still young. _________________ My whole life has been an exercise in original thinking. While I was looking in vain for the answers in books, I found them within myself. |

I'm 37, and I can tell you that you may never have a clear cut idea of what to do with your life, but in the meantime pick SOMETHING worthwhile and stick with it for awhile. Set realistic goals, and work on achieving them. Overtime, you're experiences will help you to better define what you want out of life and you'll make progress along the way too! That way, by the time you're 50, you won't still be living paycheck to paycheck in a rundown apartment somewhere and a crap half broke down car in the driveway and a job that barely pays the bills. Find something you're good at, and DO IT! Save money, read books, get some experience under your belt, and instead of feeling like you need to go find yourself somewhere, you may be surprised to find yourself looking back at you in the mirror someday, And whatever you do, don't marry someone until you're SURE you can meet their needs, and you know what your needs are too! Otherwise you will have cut out for yourself a small slice of hell. Good luck!
