I am 33 years old.
I have never felt that I fit in, its because that I have Asperger's. I like the shooting range of course , and fit well in there, as well as with close friends.

I may be perceived as someone who does not smile very much, because when you always
have felt a little out of place,it is easy to feel a little depressed. It is easy too get that way when someone never has been so very good at read non verbal communication. Of course that has improved a lot over the years, and social mistakes does not happens very often any more. Big mistakes can of course happen.

I can also, in some cases be overstimulated too many people around me, which can be tiresome at times. I may also a timeout and a little time to myself at times to "sort" things.
I do not go out on the town, i dont like that. Loud music and places with too many people.
I dont drink alcohol or use other stuff. Neither i am violent or dangerous. The only medicine i am on is nexium because i do have reflux problems (stress related ?).

I've always been a loner in the sense that I have few friends who
come to visit and call me. No, I am asked out as much either. I have no
problem with standing on the shooting range that is at times a pretty noisy place. ( 130 DB!)
However, it is much more calm and structured around me there so it's probably why
it goes very well. I do care a lot for my friends, perhaps more than normal people.
I learn very fast and have a good memory, and a lot of different interests.
They are target shooting with hand guns, and a rifle, amateur radio, electronics, linux, reading, fishing, museums, and car trips.

The music i like is:
http://www.last.fm/user/isprins

I dont like to be stigmatized because I have a diagnosis.
There are many who reads the page about asbergers on wikipedia for example when I
mention that I have asbergers and think I'm exactly the way it is described there. What is written there is the worst case senario in my option.

There are actually people behind a diagnosis, no one is affected identically.

It is unfortunately very many people in the world who are very concerned about
diagnosis, and unless one has a degree in health sciences or experience with people it can be difficult to understand that people with the same diagnosis can be very different. This has strong correlation with that in all years medicine was about just this, diagnosis, and how to treat it. This makes it so people understand the individual only on the basis of diagnosis. Unfortunately, it takes time before the world in general find that the perspective has changed. When something has been a way for hundreds of years, it takes a long time for people to adapt. So, i dont tell people that i dont trust that i have a diagnosis.
It takes a good deal of time for me to really trust anyone completely.

You don't get hassle because of the Breivik business? If not, I'm surprised that the Norwegians are so sensible about it - in Britain, you would be considered a massive risk. Good on them. Smile

I know that Norway is a very prohibitionistic society on that score and drinking (legitimately) is extremely expensive but are there not British-style pubs you could go and visit? Depending on the price, I know that there are more and more of these kinds of establishments in Denmark.

Fair enough.

Well..
Last year i had the uncomfortable experience of having a unscheduled
visit from the police.

The experience was caused by :

1.One female person had visited the local police office the day before, and stated that she was worried because i own a "large number of firearms".
She also mentioned my blog, and the local police took a look on that. I think that she also mentioned that i have AS.
It is quite obvious a person that does not understand that target shooting is a common and legal sport with classes for, .357 caliber revolver, 45LC revolver, .22 LR semi atomatic pistol et cetera..

2.They spotted a rifle on the said blog that i have obtained by 100% legal means. They could not find in the archives because it takes some time for the weapons dealer to send in the paperwork. If they had checked the archives properly, they had noticed that i had approved application for a rifle, bolt action in 7mm-08 and stopped the whole affair and waited for the paperwork from the dealer to appear.

The result was that i had a "visit" of 5 uniformed police officers with a court order, one of them was even armed and had his hand on his side arm ready to draw!

You can all guess what i felt in that moment.. I was in a state of shock in about 24 hours.
They took all my firearms and good deal of ammunition, all legally purchased of course.
I have no criminal record, so the show of force was in my and many others opinion overkill.

It took me to lawyers and three months to get my guns back, due to the first lawyers lack of competence and the foot-dragging by the local police department. They did even send my rifle to the crime police central, because the local police department did not understand that a bi-pod and a silencer is perfectly legal and common here in Norway.
The last lawyer had to write two letters to the police to get them to hand out my weapons. The last one from my last lawyer was a tiny bit threatening, i dont think that the local police had liked the consequences. A slightly humiliating ordeal in court. Laughing

It did not cost me any money because i am a member of a local association that i had contacted. They stated that the ordeal was completely unfair, and they carried all the expenses.

The total sum was 1702.15 EURO ( 2206.38 USD ) , i am glad that i did not have to pay that. A local Organization that i am a member of said that this action was outrageous and they covered all the expenses.

None of my weapons was damaged by the police. They often handle seized guns a bit rough, keeps them stored in a cardboard box so finishes and scopes can easily become damaged, and they can become rusty.

The law states that a person that delivers such a complaint ( why has person xxx so many guns and loads of ammunition, oh my god, think if he goes berzerk! :O ) is anonymous so it is not possible for me to figure out exactly who the person is, because the persons name is not recorded by the police. Even, i do have a hunch but i cannot produce any written documentation with a evidence.

I am certain that the person that delivered the message to the police will get bad karma.
I have not received any apologies from the police department.
