Please help me! I used to have HORRIBLE ones when I was younger, so bad to a point where they got badly infected so I had to go to the doctor for antibiotics. I just kept picking at them becasue I just hated seeing how big they were on my face.
Then last year when I went on a Weightwatchers and for the first time since I was 11, my skin became clearer and clearer. I couldnt believe it. I didn't see any ugly whiteheard or red bumps, I didnt feel any pain on my skin when I made facials movements. Of course I had the odd one or two spots at rare times, but they were so minor and painless, that I never put my hands to them. I remember going through pictures of myself on a night out because I was so happy with how healthy my skin looked, and I felt so confident going into school and other places that sometimes I didnt even wear make-up. Also was really happy with the weight loss.
But then Weightwatchers changed their point system (which I really don't get why since it was perfect the way it was) and my sister who was on it with me, went off it. Without her guidence, i found myself slowly going back into my old habits, whihc was then pushed by my mother becasue she want to cooked dinners for us all again and not have seperate dinners, but i knew by going back to her cooking i would go back to my old habits again and not be in control.
So I tried me best not to, but then school started and it is an exam year this year, so stress got to me and also stress from being bullied there for a while, I found myself too tired to make dinner and when I did it was just random processed foods with a bit of vegetables, so i jsut let my mother make dinner, which was basically stuff like spagetti bol and shepards pie., all done with fattening products like butter and oil.
So voila, I ended up going to my old habits of eating loads of sweets and crisps in the evenings and now thanks to that, as well as school stress, I ended up having those horrid, lumpy big spots again, adn got antibiotics again. I have been picking at them again and again, and my mother gave out to me about them, but sure if she let me cook they way I wanted, maybe I would have gotton these spots again!
Even though I havent gained weight, I still at my current weight which is still over the BMI and thanks to three hours studying I have been too tired to go walking or do any exercise. I ahve been drinking green te and taking herbal diets pills to keep off extra weight, but I just still feel fat and sluggish.
So pelase, plase help! I need a HUGE wake-up call! |

BMI is kinda dumb to go off of, you're much better off just looking at your bodyfat levels, I know I love showing pictures of Lydia Valentin, as she's gorgeous, but she's an Olympic weightlifter, I think at 170s pounds and 5'7. She's gorgeous, her BMI is I think like 26 or 27, though, she's just got a high level of muscle, but doesn't look like some freaky bodybuilder girl due to having a normal percentage of bodyfat. I don't know if you're muscular or not, as I don't think you like, lift super heavy weights in your spare time or anything, but some people are just born more muscular. ANYWAY, my main point is, don't go freak out over your BMI, for me, to reach 25 BMI I'd have to be like 10% bodyfat, it's a stupid scale. Just worry about bodyfat level, because BMI for some people just never ever will work.
Anyway, I can relate to your going back to random processed foods. I've gone through cycles like that. The best thing you can do is, well, start somewhere and get cooking again. One thing that could be helpful, take some B vitamins, that was helpful for me. Really, though, nutrition has to be a lifelong thing, you're gonna have times where you suck, and you'll have times where you're better, the key is to get back up when you "fall" like you do. As far as weightwatchers, well, I always thought it sounded lame. You really should just do some reading on nutrition and just learn as much as you can, then apply it however you need it.
Exercise, though, it's again one of those things where you just gotta do it, I mean for me, luckily I've found exercise I find fun, but there's days when I just don't wanna go, and you need to for your physical health, but also for your mental health. If you find an exercise or sport you really like, it'll do wonders for your mental health, too. For more energy, despite sounding obvious, go to bed early. Get a lot of sleep. That's a problem I have, I cheat and compensate for it with energy drinks, but I probably need like 12 hours sleep every night, but I never can get it.
With the spots, well, you're gonna have to argue with your mom, you obviously can show some cause and effect. I can kinda empathize, not in the same situation, but what happened for me, I was in tip top perfect health as a kid when my father cooked, he cooked like, everything from scratch, mostly organic, but my sisters wouldn't eat my dad's cooking and my mom wouldn't either, so after the divorce, custody with my mother, and my mom's "cooking" consisted of like, occasionally hamburgers, but mostly just processed TV dinners and canned food. My mom's big problem cooking was she never used ANY seasoning on anything, so imagine that. Eventually I got so fed up with my health being horrendous (I got huge) that I just learned to cook myself. I'd often spend my whole allowance myself at the store just buying food for me to cook. It was a lot of drama, but eventually the message came through, and I lost weight from ice skating and cooking myself, and was in way better health than my family, and now my mom lets me buy more or less what I want to eat. I do the most cooking in the entire house. So, you're gonna have to fight your mom on this one, it's not going to be fun, but you CAN show cause and effect, and you'll have to just be like "look, do you care about your daughter's health or not?" Not fun at all, but you really gotta drive the point home, that in the longterm, it's life and death.
It's a vicious cycle, one most people living with their parents go through. My best advice besides dietary is like, find an athletic activity you like doing, and do it as often as possible, preferably everyday. Doesn't have to be crazy aerobics or whatever, just something you think is fun, something you see on TV and go "man I wanna do that, that'd be sweet." Especially once you get into athletics, you start looking at nutrition as like, an ergogenic aid.
I don't know, rambled forever there, but good luck. _________________ Too kawaii to live...

I also get skin problems when I eat too much sugar and fat, mainly on my shoulders and back. The combination of sugar and fat (or starch and fat) is especially bad for my skin. But the acne on my back vanished when I started to drink large amounts of camomile tea. I originally came to drink camomile tea for my Crohn's disease, since camomile has anti-inflammatory properties. But as it turns out, it also clears up your skin from within.
External application of strong camomile tea helps too, especially after using a rough skin-peeling washcloth or luffa in the shower. In the evening, you could wipe the affected areas with a tissue soaked in aftershave. There is no need to buy Clearasil or other expensive skin-care products, any cheap aftershave will do the trick. But what helped me most was drinking copious amounts of camomile tea and avoiding fatty food.
PS: Camomile tea also curbs the appetite and aids in weight loss if you drink it before a meal. On top of that, it is a digestive aid, it's very calmative (which is great if you suffer from social anxiety), it is rich in calcium, magnesium and antioxidants, and it helps detoxify the body by aiding liver and kidney function (which would explain the skin-cleaning effect). You can safely drink large amounts without any side effects other than slight tiredness due to the calmative effect, which can be offset by drinking a little more coffee. |

Getting to a healthy weight is a matter of self discipline and determination, you need to aim towards the end result and ask yourself if a second of satisfaction really worth compromising your goal over.
Someone like you would definitely benefit from the P90X program, it has shown to prove great results and it is the best way to kick start into fitness.

I have to say that I don't see anything wrong with the "before" photo. I wouldn't have considered her to be overweight.
In the "after" photo, she has stretch marks on her belly, you can count her ribs, and her breasts have vanished. She also seems determined to get skin cancer or at least to prematurely age her skin, judging by her extreme tan. Of course she's still very attractive, but she looked cuddlier before she turned anorexic imho. |

Each to their own preference, I think the after photo looks a lot better than the before. Of course, she's going to have stretch marks after losing weight but she has gained stamina, agility, endurance, strength, greater cardiovascular levels and lung capacity. Tanning is a personal choice and nowhere in the P90X program does it suggest you should go out and lay in the sun.
Here's another P90X transformation of an a older woman this time. The girl in the first transformation looked like she used P90X lean program, the woman in this transformation appears to have used classic P90X which builds more lean muscle.

P90X and the like just seems boring. I tried doing circuit training at my gym once, it just bored me to tears.
Really, I think for exercise, you'll just have to find stuff that works for you. For example, when I first started exercising, I was like, against lifting weights. I thought it was dumb. I figured I didn't care to look like a bodybuilder, and really didn't have much care in how I looked anyway, and I just hated doing boring dumbell curls and tricep kickbacks and stuff like that. I started leg pressing for skating, I didn't hate leg pressing and I could put up a good deal of weight on the leg press, so it was fun, then I saw a dude squatting, and then I was like "wow that'd help me for skating" and it all spiralled out from there. I found out I really liked doing the powerlifting and Olympic lifting movements, and tada, I go from thinking "weight lifting is dumb and boring" to "weight lifting is totally sweet." Now it's not like "aww, this sucks, I gotta go lift weights" like it's some obligation, I simply do it because it's fun. That's what I believe you must do for exercise, you gotta find stuff you actually LIKE doing, so that it doesn't become an obligation, and it's just another hobby or activity you do, you should have just as much fun exercising as you do, say, playing video games. I mean if P90X and aerobics class type stuff does it for you, hey, that's good, but you really have to find some activity that you LIKE doing. _________________ Too kawaii to live...
