Making Washington DC a target for divine retribution!

Thats all we need here in the DC area- a Katrina type disaster ( Katrina was of course punishment for the Big Easy lifestyle- or for the whole country allowing gay marriage- or for something like that).

Atheists organizing makes me think of that South Park episode where in the future the future 3 groups called the United Atheist League, Unified Atheist League, and Allied Atheist Alliance war against each other over who is the most logical. It was a funny episode.

The Atheism movement disgusts me. Soon Atheists and Christians are going to be one and the same. Take my word for it. The only bet is to remove yourself entirely from the political drama. It is the only way to save yourself.

Atheism is not about reason is about belief. And that is why these propaganda techniques infuriate me. "Reason rally" I mean come on - its BS. Atheism is about passion, why don't we embrace the passion and drop reason out of the equation. It would make us way more credible.

You sound confused. Atheism is about not having belief. Atheism isn't about passion, although you can be passionate and be an atheist... Atheism without reason doesn't make any sense... I mean, I s’pose it's possible to be a reasonless atheist and all, but in areas dominated by theism, atheists often reach the lack of belief through reasoning.

I don't know, maybe you know what you're talking about, but it sounds like you might be confusing atheism with something else.

Atheism is not belief related, the people who claim that it is, tend to be those seeking to pull the "My unreason fits nicely on the shelf with your reason" line of argument. Passion and reason are far from mutually exclusive and a rally like this, provided that it succeeds in strengthening reason and atheism is a net positive for the movement. For me, part of being an atheist is to stand up for reason in the face of unreason and to passionately argue that unreason needs to be like masturbation, its fine to engage in it, its fine to be proud of your prowess in it, however please do not do it in public.

Atheism is not belief related,

Atheism is disbelief related. It is the rational denial of unsupported nonsense and balderdash.

If all you little Theists are annoyed that Atheists are grouping together, then stop trying to force your inane little laws and values on us. It's that simple.

Very few Atheists are actively against religion, they don't care what people believe. What they *do* care about, is when someone tries to give their little belief special benefits... like making their commandments law, not paying taxes (Seriously, what's up with that? Tax the damned churches already!), throwing your holy symbols all over the place in public buildings, inserting your deity in oaths of office.... the list goes on.

I don't understand why some atheists claim that their disbelief isn't a belief. It seems to me that the only reason you could lack a belief is if you weren't exposed to the notion in the first place.
