An amendment that would legalize the use of propaganda on American audiences is being inserted into the latest defense authorization bill, BuzzFeed has learned.
Quote:
The bi-partisan amendment is sponsored by Rep. Mac Thornberry from Texas and Rep. Adam Smith from Washington State.
Quote:
Thornberry warned that in the Internet age, the current law “ties the hands of America’s diplomatic officials, military, and others by inhibiting our ability to effectively communicate in a credible way.”
Hmm, wonder why they need war propaganda? Since we are in an endless war, I guess this means that they can use the propaganda in just about everything.
"ME countries are hurting our claim to our stake in the resources and opium fields in the area. We need you to unify with us by donating your gold and ammunition to our friendly soldiers, who will be coming door to door looking for the required supplies to defeat our long standing enemy-Terrorism."

You sound surprised. _________________ The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary. - H L Mencken
It's one thing to do it, but it's another to announce that it's time to engage it again.
Same thing with the president's hit list. Like he didn't have the power to do so before. _________________ *some atheist walks outside and picks up stick*
The United States government has done this in the past. They tend to do this every single time another war is being planned. This is what happens when the American people become apathetic to government.
How else are they going to sell the upcoming war with Iran? It sounds a little too similar to the Iraq War. People remember what happened in that war. Time to bring out the big guns to persuade the populace.
Propaganda is not just selling your side of the story. It is lies told for the greater good of spreading the Faith.
Presently Government is banned from spreading known lies.
That is why they use leaks, speak off record to the news, and Spin Doctors are in high demand.
Opening the door to outright lies, with Official Sanction, is bad news.
Leaks, speaking off the record, after the fact? I don't see how that excuses the liars.
If they were banned for telling lies, then why the need for leaks and speaking off record?
A lot of people voted for Obama because he promised there would be transparency in government, which is what people wanted because a lot do not trust the actions of the government. He lied. Oh but wait, he was just a candidate, so I guess he's allowed to lie every once and a while (and hopefully not get caught) _________________ *some atheist walks outside and picks up stick*

Lying to the people is the main function of the U.S. government. We are told that the FDA assures the safety of our food and drugs. We are told that the Homeland Security Agency assures our security. Do you see a pattern here....?
In the lead up to the Iraq War, U.S. President George W. Bush alleged that Iraqi President Saddam Hussein and militant group al-Qaeda might conspire to launch terrorist attacks on the United States
But his staff later admitted they had nothing on Iraq regarding terrorists.
Quote:
On April 29, 2007, former Director of Central Intelligence George Tenet said on 60 Minutes, "We could never verify that there was any Iraqi authority, direction and control, complicity with al-Qaeda for 9/11 or any operational act against America, period."[5]
Oh thank God they cleared that up, so the lie wouldn't led to anything rash.

speaking off record and leaks does not excuse the liars, but what he is implying is that there is at least some ability to hold the liars accountable when stuff gets leaked and someone speaks off record, but with goverment sanctioned lying...we might as well be living in China.
Basicly lifting the propaganda Ban allows the government to outright lie to the masses without any accountablility whatsoever.
I need to get the F*k out of this country before I can no longer do that, but some of my loved ones still believe America means freedom, and I wont leave without them. What will it take before they realize that America we knew has been hijacked? _________________ All art is a kind of confession, more or less oblique. We aren't that far away.

Thanks for the video...I knew that CIA manipulates not just news media but also holywood to influence public opinion as well.
I love how the weenie says "this kinda detail needs to be discussed in executive session" He might as well have said, "hell ya we do!!"
Its like a drunk caught driving, refusing to take the Breathalyzer test. Either way, guilty.
