Who likes the blues, I sure know that I do! Post some vids, audio, and/or chitchat about the blues if you do! Let me begin... With a classic track by a legend in the blues realm.

In my other computer (which I don't have at the moment) you might enjoy my Son House and Robert Johnson collection. Why? I remastered them. I removed the clicks and pops from the 78rpm recordings. I also added a bit of reverb to the track by Son House, "John the Revelator." It sounds as haunting as Jeff Buckley's "Halleujah."

Wow! I'd love to hear the remastered "john the revelator". I like to play "barrelhouse blues" on banjo. Smile

Woo I love the blues!! It's exciting to see a thread on it here, it's an often-neglected genre nowadays, especially on these forums with all this talk about heavy metal and dubstep lol. Here's a few of my favorites of the genre! (certainly not an all-inclusive list lol). The version of Hoodoo Man with Junior Wells below is actually what initially got me hooked on the genre, it's still one of my favorite performances in any genre.

I don't know how to post videos but I love the blues. I seen Buddy Guy in concert with BB King and he just killed. It was his show. That man can pull an audience in. His band could stop and start on a dime. Another guy to check out is Freddie Roulette. He plays blues on a lap steel guitar.

I love to listen to The Blues. They bring me back to a more happier, simpler time. Smile

Thanks for opening this thread Pondering. Such a great idea!

~ ~ Chester Arthur Burnett, aka The Howlin' Wolf ~ ~
- a member of wave three bluesmen.

In the film introduction, Howlin' Wolf gets a bit pissed at Alex Miller, aka Sonny Boy Williamson (his sometimes mouth harp man) for being drunk yet again, for jivin' The Wolf and getting the camera man to give him some face during the shoot.

6 foot - 6 inches, 300 lbs, The Wolf was never shy with anger. Sonny Boy knew just how far he could push while Wolf had to behave.

Howlin' Wolf was slow to liking electric guitars and used a young Buddy Guy to do some of that work in studio and on bigger tours. But in this film I think he does some delicious playing...

I know this is a cover, but frankly I think it's better than the original:

I agree!
When someone as awesome as The Black Keys does a cover, it's going to be good!

And there are times I'll be in the mood for the old timey version too. Maybe because - 'that's the guy who Wrote it!, and sometimes it is just that guy and his guitar, mono, and the scratchy-funky old version...'
