Being a pretty much lifetime gaming fan, particularly the Nintendo consoles have always been unique, and stand out. However, in my opinion they have been slipping since the wii. The technology with the wii was revolutionary, but the games which utilised it quite frankly weren't.
Most of the best games for the wii (*cough*Xenoblade chronices*cough*) don't even use the motion control, and cn be played using a classic controller. The DS series has brought out DS, DS lite and DSi, with minute differences. I don't own a 3DS, so I won't comment on if that was actually a good call by Nintendo, although they are definitely demonstrating their innovative technology again, whether or not the games are any good.
Now the wii U has more details around it, I have started to wonder if these new tablet controllers are just cash leeches which are used to display maps, item screens and other almost useless screens, which could easily be assigned to a button if we didn't have the screen. (much like many games use of the second DS screen.....).
Please don't get me wrong, I am very excited about the wii U, and the new zelda/mario titles always attached to Nintendo consoles, I'm just not too sure about the design, much as I wasn't to sure about the use of a kinect system (which, if you dislike dancing, would be a completely pointless purchase at the minute ) and the games developed to use the technology.
What do you think about the console? Furthermore, if you can afford it when it's out, will you be purchasing one? Despite my thoughts, (shared by my gamer dad) I expect we will still buy it between us when it comes out that's what you get for being a zelda addict _________________ Female, 16

| Not going to wait on line at launch day for it like I did for the Wii. It just doesn't seem all that exciting. If they release some amazing games for it, then I'll buy. |

| I will buy it, but not at launch. I'm not going to get f**** over again like I did with the Wii by camping out for it for 3 days. I'll wait for the first price drop to get it. |

| I don't really care much about it. Nintendo's systems that have interested me have always been the handhelds and I have enough reason now to buy a 3ds when I have the money. I'm sure the Wii-u will have good games like the wii did but I'm pretty apathetic and am not a fan of the gimmick, just like the wii. I actually camped out for a wii, played several games for it, then ended up selling it within less than a year. Not repeating the same mistake again. |

Can you tell me what would be better to get for someone who does like dancing games, Wii or Kinnect? I've tried a minimal (like five to ten minutes) on each but my friends who have consoles aren't really into dancing so I don't have anyone else to ask. I just want it for fun and excersize movement. _________________ Your Aspie score: 165 of 200

Definitely Kinect, unless you want to use a motion controller. Still wouldn't use the Wii, though. I'd roll towards the PS Move. _________________ Feel free to drop me a PM, but it may take a while to reply. I don't bite, though.

From what I saw on Nintendo's E3 of the Wii U, I'm not impressed, but it looked like it had potential.
I'm still reminded of how the original Wii was highly hyped, only for it to be a console whose hardware capabilities became obsolete around 2008 and stopped receiving support much earlier than the other 2 consoles.
If the Wii U borrows some features from the 3ds, then that is a good thing, however Wii U still doesn't have a very promising launch. Pikmin 3 maybe, but that appeals to a small niche rather than gamers as a whole. |

My opinion is that it seems neat but not innovative. The concept of a tablet like device with dedicated hardware buttons has around and not as unique as the Nintendo DS was. The bad part will be trying to use homebrew on it will be tricky. Unlike an Android OS or Windows device, getting custom software on it wont be as easy. I'll just stick to my tablet PC _________________ When u hit the walls of sanity, u have no-where to go.... |

| I was not that impressed with the Wii U. I going to wait for a price drop, before I get one. I just picked up Pikmin 2 so it should keep me Pikmin happy for awhile. |

Nintendo surprised me after I finally got a Wii. I got it for exercise at the time and that was the only system that has motion control. Then I got some other games that used both wiimote and nunchuck and it just felt right. The library was less than stellar though. Mario games were good and then Skyward Sword came out and that was truly what Nintendo needed to do.
On to the Wii U. I remain skeptical like I was with the Wii, but who knows I may be surprised again. It's hard to see how well this will work out. Do we need another screen for gaming? I doubt it, but I'm keeping my mind open part way and follow it. |

Looks awesome and will be the only next gen console I'll bother to get. Seems there will be at least a little more third party support next to all the great games you know Nintendo will make anyway. Only thing I'm worried about is them forgetting about the Wii remote, nunchuck, and motion controls entirely. I'd hate to see them go backwards with Zelda after all the good that was done with Skyward Sword. _________________ About suffering they were never wrong,

I may or may not buy it. I want to try it out first, at least. I really hope some amazing games are released for the system. _________________ http://towwi101.deviantart.com |

| Since I never owned a Wii I will buy it if DQ X comes to USA. I will also have all those Wii games I never played to keep me busy since its backwards compatible I believe! |
