I'm thinking about going to a university for the first time, and am wondering about online classes. Does anyone know how an online class compares in quality to a class you physically attend?

My guess is that a general question like this cannot tell you about the quality of online classes vs lectures, since it varies from class to class and from university to university.

Some people prefer online, some prefer lectures. What is your learning style?

It depends on your learning style. I could never learn certain subjects online, but if you can teach yourself things easily, it's a good way to go.

It all depends. If you have ADHD, then you might find online classes more difficult because of the lack of structure. At least that was my experience with it and my disorganization caused me to have to drop the online class I was experimenting with. Another thing to consider is accreditation. Not all online classes are created equal as many online-only "universities" have no accreditation and thus the credits will not transfer if you decide to go to another school. This is also true of some classroom type schools as well, such as ITT tech. It's an important point to consider as many of these schools are more expensive than in state tuition at your local community college and offer no better education for your money.
