Yes, if I can continue cutting out sugar, which I find so addictive that even the smallest amounts have me eating increasingly large quantities not only of it but everything else, ( which applies to gluten too, in bread, pizza, etc yummmmm, prob because of its opioids ), and restricting fructose ( it has no effect on/does not switch off our appetite-signalling chemical so encourages/enables binge-eating ) this seems like a good idea/approach! Smile ... I've read this in quite a few places now. Smile

40 percent less, and if a healthy dinner meal should consist of 25% rise/potatoes, 25% meat/fish, and 50% vegetables, I know where to cut. I'll be cutting down to 10% veggies now, foe shoe! Very Happy

This is quite well known and is one of the few methods that is scientifically proven to work. It is one reason why I limit my caloric intake.

Just wait a few more years for scientists to unravel the mysteries of this mechanism. It turns out they found the cluster of genes responsible for this effect (sirtuin genes).

Most people eat three meals a day and snacks. I can't even imagine doing that. I eat one meal a day and maybe one snack. I have tried eating three with weight gain and other negative side effects. I prefer sticking with my way of doing it. Eating three meals a day, imo, can lead to bad health.

I only have two meals a day and my main meal is in the morning.

I get hungry in the evening and am hardly every hungry in the morning. I always want to eat at night.

The reason why I have my main meal in the morning is that it gives me a reserve of energy for the rest of the day. As I don't eat a lot, if I only had a small breakfast I would run out of energy halfway through the day. A mid day meal is not much use to me because I usually forget to eat.

I just have coffee in the morning and it gives me energy.

1) Starving for 80 years sounds worse than being relatively comfortable for 60.
2) Fasting produces the same benefits without the downsides (amenorrhea in women, hunger and less muscular devopment).

So why not just skip a few meals every now and then instead? I only eat more than one meal on workout days.

"The effect in humans is relatively untested, as humans who practice caloric restriction usually have low BMIs, between 18 and 21, which can creep into eating disorder territory."

What the hell?
How common-sense phobic is our culture becoming, wherein monitoring one's nutritional intake is likened to mental illness? Of course it is Yahoo...
