This is Sony's answer to Super Smash bros. and I can't wait for it!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u5BLgycbUog
The vcharacters confirmed are Fat Princess, Toro, Kratos, Parappa the Rapper, Big Daddy, Colonel Radec, Heihachi Mishima, Nathan Drake, Sly COoper, and Sweet Tooth; and they will likely show more over time like Brawl did.
The stages shown seem very dynamic, but most took issue with those in Braw, so fan response may be lowered from that. I love the God of War stage though; hopefully they have one similar to Metroid levels with the lava waves!
There is no percentage in this game either; rather, combos power up your special attacks (level 1, 2 or 3) that are used to knock opponents off the board. I was kinda hoping we'd have the recoveries, but oh well.
Items and stage information here:
http://www.ign.com/wikis/playstation-all-stars-battle-royale/Itemshttp://www.ign.com/wikis/playstation-all-stars-battle-royale/Stages
The art from all the games have been blended beautifully in this I think.
What I love about these games is how you don't need to memorize button combinations to use moves, you just combo with moves that feel natural to perform.
They are even going to have a system in place that prevents infinite cmbos apparently. That will make online play even better.
Here are some screenshots:

Thoughts? I am pre-ordering it. _________________ My music at: http://www.youtube.com/user/SanityTheorist5/videos

The items and stages link isn't working for some reason
Other than that, heck yeah!! I think what would personally draw me to buying this game would be if they include Crash Bandicoot and Spyro the Dragon. Let's be honest - both characters need a revival and none of the fans have yet to see either in a fighting game or duke it out (I don't count Crash Purple and Spyro Orange, as neither game is canon). _________________ Sometimes you'll never know what you'll find until you give certain things a second chance...Hold on, I didn't word that right! Spyro has so much potential too; I'd love to see who they introduce over time. I imagine Spyro has more potential than Crash Bandicoot though given the ice/fire breath, breathing fire, headbutting etc.
I am thinking that we'll see Spyro, Sackboy and Liquid Snake (from the upcoming Metal Gear SOlid Game enter the fry at some point; sackboy would certainly be interesting! _________________ My music at: http://www.youtube.com/user/SanityTheorist5/videos

I'm worried that it might be trying too hard to not be seen as a Smash Bros. ripoff. All of the changes from Smash Bros. seem to be for the worse.
For example, you don't score kills via ringout - you can only score kills by using super moves. You charge up your super moves by running around collecting stuff, just like in Smash Bros. coin mode, which is generally considered to be a terrible mode. Also, there is an official "combo system" in place, which doesn't seem to fit this sort of game. |

I wouldn't count Crash out so quickly. Okay, so the spin attack is a given, but don't forget he has the wumpa gun. Heck, I even see him getting a few moves exclusive to the PS All-Stars system (a wumpa bomb, where Crash tosses a wumpa fruit that explodes, for example). I do agree with the Spyro inclusion...wonder what his special move would be???

LOL, Sackboy would be hilarious!! I can imagine him just running around a stage with everyone trying to hit him XD _________________ Sometimes you'll never know what you'll find until you give certain things a second chance...Hold on, I didn't word that right! Let me try that again...

I personally think it will be decent but it'll probably come second to Smash Bros. in terms of recognisable characters... don't get me wrong as Sony have a few recognisable characters but not on par with the likes of Mario, Sonic and Link. _________________ www.wrongplanet.net/postp5013377.html&highlight=#5013377

I agree, coin mode was a rather disappointing mode. I see no shame in ripping off SUper Smash Bros. completely for the PS3; hell, Nintendo can't sue them for it. It's a complete separate system that should have a similar game.
I like the idea of the special moves - although there should be knocking opponents off the stage too - but you caould use them with the knockouts to have varying degrees of final smashes.
I think they should change it to have ring outs and add a stamina mode and add what Brawl did, where you can have 3 permanent items on your character. Was always fun to mix and match those!
AScomposer13413, I think Crash has potential as well...just not as much as Spyro, and they would want to get a lot of crossover fans to play through characters I imagine, hence Nathan Drake, Toro etc.
I don't know PastFixations, I think they will be about as recognizable.
On that note, think we'll see any SOnic characters? Not SOny exclusive but SOld Snake was in Brawl... _________________ My music at: http://www.youtube.com/user/SanityTheorist5/videos

I don't have a problem with this being a customer. Game critics, on the other hand...

That's actually a good idea!! They'd better implement that!!

I have the game, but don't remember that feature for some reason

Ah, I misinterpreted your post!! Come to think of it, it would be much better if they were unlockable characters in the game - even though I'd play specifically for those two, it would get players used to the other PS personas outside of their "environments", so to speak.

I highly doubt it, considering the whole point of Sonic's inclusion in Brawl was to signify the end of a rivalry between Nintendo and Sega (though a Crash/Spyro/Sonic fan battle would be really cool!!) _________________ Sometimes you'll never know what you'll find until you give certain things a second chance...Hold on, I didn't word that right! Any predictions on future characters? I've already guessed Sackboy and we might also have the monster from Papo & Yo. _________________ My music at: http://www.youtube.com/user/SanityTheorist5/videos

As someone that has played these sorts of games before even Smash Bros. was out I have to say I don't think very highly of this Sony title at all. Maybe if it had come out at the peak of Sony's gaming success I would have commended them for it. There would have also been more room to implement ideas without making it seem liked they ripped other games off. As it stands it's about 10 years too late, picking all the wrong things to differentiate itself from the other mascot beat em ups and looks very sluggish and dull. I'll probably get some backlash for saying that but Sony had a heap of decent, family mascots back in the 90's - 00's and I really think they missed the boat.
This title seems to be nothing more than another title pushed out to appease shareholders in the company rather than for the love of the material it's giving to "fans". Another typical Sony knee-jerk reaction to the competitors' selling points. I'm getting tired of Sony just doing everything their competitors do. _________________ "A man is but the product of his thoughts - what he thinks, he becomes." - Mahatma Gandhi

Hell yeah! I'll get it since Jak is in it. _________________ Feel free to drop me a PM, but it may take a while to reply. I don't bite, though.

WHat is the difference between them doing it now than them doing it 10 years ago? Sure the characters are different for it but I think it's for the better. Kratos in particular should be awesome as should Cole from inFamous.
It doesn't seem like a beat 'em up to me, seems like it's Super Smash Bros. with Mortal Kombatesque special moves (not bloody though) _________________ My music at: http://www.youtube.com/user/SanityTheorist5/videos

I have a few predictions in mind:
1) Ratchet (and Clank). Considering we got Playstation Move Heroes a year or so ago and they've already confirmed Sly Cooper and Jak and Daxter, I'd be very surprised if Ratchet didn't make it into the roster.
2) Lara Croft, probably as Sony's answer to Nintendo's Samus.
3) Credo, from God of War (or perhaps he's already in the game. I don't recall seeing him in the initial video).
I also have a feeling Sony will include some series antagonists as well, or not, if they're trying to avoid being like SSB. _________________ Sometimes you'll never know what you'll find until you give certain things a second chance...Hold on, I didn't word that right! Let me try that again...
