A month passed, and I still can not deal with it :(

My cat was only 6 years old

I live in a block of flats in Wroclaw, a city in south-western Poland.

In the basement of my building live cats, moreover, is so everywhere in the city, moreover, with the consent of the authorities. Cats are periodically examined by veterinarians, and the proportion of the population is sterilized. These "stray" cats are our protection against rodents.
I live on the ground floor. One day in my house broke into one of these cats running around like crazy when I caught him badly he scratched me when he was about a year. With time, the cat gave to civilize. My niece called him "Zorro" when I asked her why she told him that she named that because he climbs into strange places and likes to scratch various items :)

Unfortunately, my cat was sick on cat flu, I never managed to completely cure this, we treated the symptoms, at times so that almost no sneezing, but the disease was returning from time to time . A month ago it much worse, probably ate rat poison laid out in the basement, but some suspect my neighbor reportedly poisoned cat food in the basement, because was killed almost the entire population of cats in the area, she does not like cats because the cat mark area and make the basement stink.
Anyway, the police and the prosecutor's office does check whether there was a case of cruelty to animals.
I just wonder why my cat had eaten poisoned food in the basement when he got any food that a cat can ever dream for..
My cat went in and out when he want, the only mistake I made is that I think that I never sterilized him
One bed happily and ran the next day, pass out in pain, I thought I would recover, it was at night, I decided that if the wound does not get better to morning I'll take him to the vet to euthanize . I buried him in the park, one of my elderly neighbors, who for a change is very fond of cats, said that I too much of the hurried burial, because she would took my cat to university to make a forensic examination, because she collects corpses of cats that have died because I want to put in jail the neighbor who allegedly responsible for poisoning cats.

Sorry for my English.

I just wanted to express my sorrow over the loss of my beloved cat :(

i'm very sorry for your loss. i keep my cat inside so he won't be run over by cars or a victim of cat-haters. my prior cat choked on a large piece of food. the vet couldn't help. i missed her. a couple years later, i replaced her with Smoke. he's a wonderful, affectionate friend. i recommend that you get another cat as soon as you feel up to it.

your english is quite understandable. i'm looking forward to hearing more from you.

So sorry to hear about this. I get so attached to my pets - a month is no time at all to mourn them, of course you'll still be sad about it.

It should get easier in time. It will still be a sad memory when you think about it, but it shouldn't always be at the front of your mind and as painful as it is now. But you need to give yourself more time.

I get new pets after they die and that helps me. But I know for some people that's just not something they can do, nor do they want to be told that's what they should do.

Sorry to hear about your Cat.

You did a great job taking care of your cat and certainly gave them a much longer life then they would have had as a stray. Don't feel bad about the cat eating food outside the house. There really is nothing you can do to stop it. Even with plenty of food available in the home nearly all animals will eat whatever they can find outside. It is just a very strong instinct in them.

I know but I still miss my cat :-(

I wonder why someone poisoned cat food?!

Besides, the police is still investigating a case, they gather evidence

I'm so sorry,I lost a pet in June,I took him to the vet several times but he died anyway.I still cry.
If there are people putting out rat poison your cat could have ate some rats that had the poison in their system,I lost a cat that way.A lady moved into the vacant house near me and it was full of mice so she put out mouse poison, she found my cat dead in her garage. It says on the pack of poison that animals eating poisoned rodents can get sick and die.I never use poison,it is so dangerous if a pet gets into it.Sorry again for the loss of your pet.

Same here, about 10 years ago. I'm still angry at the dumba** neighbor who put out the rat poison.

I'm always really close to my pets (closer than to any human, honestly), so it really hurts when they're gone. So sorry for your loss, OP. :(
