This is a fallacious question. It makes the assumption that all people find animals very disgusting, and dogs in particular. But your assumption is incorrect for not all people do find animals particularly disgusting.

The only thing I find disgusting is inane threads, of which Jitro seems to be creating quite a few.

Animals operate on instinct.
Behavior can be changed by training, therefore, a pet's behavior depends on the owner.
Smell and sounds can also be controlled by the owner, and polite communication with said owner usually gets co-operation.
Some people have an aversion or phobia to animals, if so, it is only considerate to keep a pet away from the individual, they are genuinely fearful or upset, not being mean.

Animals are much cuter than humans although they're kinda stinky which is cute too.

Actually, I have come to find that the majority of humans are far more disgusting in their actions than any animal. There are so many horrific things (that I don't even want to mention) that humans have done to other humans as well as to innocent animals that it makes me sick to my stomach to think about.

Quite true.
An animal attacking/maiming/killing is enraged, hungry, or protective.
A human doing the same may have been attacked/threatened/provoked,, but some choose to harm or kill others.
An animal's apparent aggression is frequently misunderstood, as observation often shows that they are defending perceived territory.

Spend a few minutes listening to my dogs licking, nibbling and slurping on themselves and you'll think they're disgusting too. But I love them anyway. Even when they try to snack out of the garbage can or the catbox. :eew:

Dogs have been shaped by centuries of living with and being bred by humans. Jitro, you should really include details of what you find disgusting about dogs. I find humans pretty disgusting.

MEDITATIO

When I carefully consider the curiuos habits of dogs
I am compelled to conclude
That man is the superior animal.

When I consider the curious habits of man
I confess,my friend,I am puzzled.

Dogs are stupid, filthy animals. You have no idea how many nights I have heard dogs barking, or hot summer days smelling their s**t, wishing I could just lean out the window with a rifle and take care of it.

Cats, on the other hand, are pretty cool. :D
