Valentines Day sucks because its a reminder you have nobody while everyone else has somebody and you get that moment of wanting someone but it never happens. Im gonna probably hit the pub and drink alone again on that day!

If I went to a pub on Valentine's Day I know I'll see couples and get depressed. Like any other holiday I'll probably just treat myself to a good take out meal from a restaurant. (Yeah. That's why I'm getting so fat now!)

I'm not leaving the house on valentines day. Couples will be everywhere.

I'll be staying in and watching anime or playing games. I have beer in the fridge so that will do :P

I have no plans for that day.Chocolates maybe, but I will buy them for myself.
Anyway, wishing everyone did have a happy .V.D.,but if you think of it that way WHO would want it.
Maybe us single folks should think of it as VD day.
Now I don't feel so bad.
I can pass on that!! !

Would've forgotten about its existence if it weren't brought up online. I guess I don't feel anything about it at all.

That's a great way to celebrate, BlueMax. :) Last year I felt the same way as OP, having recently gone through a bad breakup. If I recall correctly I had my best friend over instead.

For some strange reason I can relate to the guy playing super mario bros on the DS!

In secondary school, I was worried how I would react in front of other people if someone sent me a rose.
(Un-)fortunately, this never happened.

This year, I'll be studying.

I generally think of it as my son's birthday and we celebrate his birthday every valentine's day he was born 2/13. He has autism but he's my valentine. Husband may or may not remember and considers it a waste of time, effort and money. As far as romance goes I generally get very little as my husband isn't into gift giving occasions/holidays/anniversaries or etc.

I'm planning son's birthday at Chucky Cheese this year and having a birthday party for my son is as close to a perfect valentine as I can think of.

I used to be cynical about it too but you see, my parent's anniversary is on Valentine's Day. This weekend I showed my appreciation for having two parents still together even after several decades by making them chocolate-dipped strawberries. :) I like to think of Valentine's Day as not just a day for lovers, but family and friends, too. And Super Mario, I guess. Also St. Valentine is, supposedly, a real guy who was executed in Rome on February 14th a long time ago for illegally marrying young couples because it was believed young men should stay single because they made better soldiers, and while awaiting his execution in prison he fell in love with a girl who brought him his food and stuff. I don't know, that last part kind of sounds like Mr. Toad from Wind in the Willows. Still a pretty weird reason for a holiday, though...

I hate it too. I hate it more than anybody else does on this earth. I think last year I just spent all day playing games, and moving into the new apartment.

It's a 'feh' thing for me. Although with my first gal on the horizon that may change soon.....
