I saw my GP a week ago & got the results of the blood work I had done the time before. My kidneys, liver, thyroid & B-vitamins are fine. I was also checked for cholesterol & diabetes & my results are in the lower part of the medium to high range. My GP is concerned because I'm overweight & have been gaining weight; I'm concerned too. She wants me to start eating more healthy & go for brisk walks more. I don't mind the idea of brisk walking but I'm a very picky eater. I eat alot of junk-food & fast-food. I also binge eat sometimes I started trying to cut back on the junk-food & drink less soda but I started feeling bad. I have moments where I feel really woozy, dizzy, weak, tired, my face gets flushed, & I feel faintish. I have moments were I get like that occasionally throughout my life. They happen more when I'm ridding in a care for a while, sitting down for a while not moving much or when it's late at night. Sometimes when I feel like that I lay down & I feel like my bed is spinning & like my bed is learning where I'm slightly upside down. I sometimes have an urge to eat a lot of junk at night & I notice a while latter that I start feeling better if I was feeling woozy before. I sometimes have this woozy feeling a while after I eat supper but it leaves a while after I make a pig of myself on things like chips, ice-cream, salted cashews, & peanut-butter M&Ms.
I had a bad spell a couple days ago when I hadn't ate much junk for a couple days. I was feeling really woozy & like I had no energy at all so I layed down for awhile. I got up & was going downstairs & my body sort of collapsed. My right foot hit the step wrong & I caught myself as I fell but my foot bent left & scrapped a step. My foot looks swollen, feels kind of like it's in a clamp & there's some marks on it from scraping or bruising. I'm trying to take it easy, putting an ice-pack on it some, taking Aleve & I think it's slowly getting better.
I tried a couple blood pressure meds for a tremor disorder years ago & I felt really bad. I think it was because my blood pressure got too low. I'm not sure if this is related but a couple years ago I had a bad crush on someone & sometimes when I was heavily crushing I felt really woozy & faintish. My blood pressure is good when it's checked but I walk alittle to get there & waiting around to see a doc isn't the most relaxing. I wonder if maybe my blood pressure drops. I have small veigns. The nurse & lab had a hard time gettiing blood from me; the veigns in both my hands which were easier for them to find didn't give enough so then my arm was tried. If I do have a low blood pressure thing it's going to be even harder for me to eat healthy when my BP getting low is going to make me feel bad & want to pig out so I think I would have to be on something raise it/stop it from dropping in order for me to make gradual changes in my diet. Do you guys think this is low BP or something else? & if it is low BP what can I do about it? I'll be seeing my doc again in a few weeks & my appointment would go better if I have a better idea of what's going on & what can be done about it.

could also be low blood sugar. can be corrected with a couple of peanut butter crackers. a small snack, not a pig out, should fix things.

stress quality and not quantity. prioritize- which matters more to you- "tasting good" or "feeling good"? IOW if you wanna stay healthy you will want to mind the other parameters of your life [diet and exercise].

My girlfriend has naturally low BP & during some apointments it's been checked a couple times; one time it barely even registered. She has depression & various anxiety issues & has been trying to find an antidepressant that works for her. Her body's more senstive to meds & some of them made her BP drop more. She had an appointment today & I suggested that she take something to raise her BP & her GP said they aren't meds for raising it but instead she could try giving my gf something to make her more energetic so she won't feel as tired. We didn't go that route, yet anyways.
Getting back to me; when I had problems years ago due to blood pressure meds my GP had told me to sip soda regurally & nibble on candy; I never drink coffee. Now I have the same GP as my girlfriend & she wants me to drink less soda, the agrement we came to during my appointment was one a day, I sometimes drink 1& a half or 2 a day. She also wants me to cut back on sugar. I never discussed blood pressure with her because it hasn't been much more than an ocasional nuisance for years. Trying to cut back on soda & sweets is making me notce the low BP issue more now. I wonder if one of the reasons I always loved junk-food & sweats is because it raises BP. I don't have the best self-control with food 1ce I start eating. I know my bad dietary practices are part of the cause but feeling woozy & faintish is making it even harder for me to change my diet. It would be easier for me to make gradual changes in my diet if I felt better phsyically when I start. I'll research the low sugar thing that was mentioned but if it could be low BP; I would like to try taking a med that would incease my BP. I did alittle bit of research & would like to try Florinef but I don't think my GP would want to go that route with me

That's what my GP said,I have a slow heart beat also so that's good.I get my BP checked when I see my shrink, the nurse freaked one day because there was only 10 whatever you call them between the two numbers.(I'm sorry, numbers elude me).If I get real overheated and stand up to quick I will get light headed.
nick007,there may be some herbal things like guarana that have a lot of caffeine but there could also be some side effects. There used to be a tea by Celestial Seasonings called Morning Thunder that had a lot of caffeine, maybe that with agave syrup or stevia?Or green tea, lots of benefits there and an energy boost.

orthostatic hypotension [one of the side effects of low blood pressure in general, meaning you can't get up from the horizontal quickly due to insufficient pumping force from the heart, among other things] bothers me also. in army basic training, the drills would make us do pushups then bounce back up quickly, but if I tried that 30 years later [now] i'd faint.

^^^Yep,my GP said that veins dilate to cool your body in hot weather. And with the low blood pressure the blood tends to stay in the lower areas if one stands up to quick. It seems worse when the weather turns off real hot and humid in the spring. Then I seem to adjust, and the heat feels good,no achy neck.

^^^It has not been bad this year,90's but compared to the last two summers that were over a 100,so far this is a cake walk.I have not had to run the AC at night.I turn it on for a few hours,I have a giant shade tree on the west side of the house, makes a big difference.

so far we in the Puget Sound area have not yet had our long hot summer, though we have had a week-long preview a month ago, with temperatures approaching 100 locally. right now it has been in the upper 60s/low 70s with a breeze, actually a tad cold at times. but i'm still glad it is not texas or anything like that.

the central valley of California tends towards the warm side. but I can tell sure as shootin' that you would not like Puget Sound except for a few weeks in the summer.
