Yeah, I like them, and I have quite a few. I'll list them if you want, but not right now.

my first exposure to concept albums was when i was a teen in the 70s, with The Alan Parsons Project albums "I Robot," "Pyramid" and "Eve." those three were IMHO the best albums he produced, all with a clear central theme [high tech, pyramids/health fads in general and relationships] and all of them at once evocatively emotional and cerebral.

I like The Antlers Hospice. Not sure I understand all of it, but I'm not sure I'm supposed to either, it's all kind of misty and vague.

Oh righty, I see. Cheers bud.

There's no need to apologise to me, particularly not for liking the Manics :D

just came on here to recommend this album.

Probably one of the best albums I have ever listened to, though it is a very hard listen, maybe the most heartbreaking and emotional album I know.

If you read up on it a little you will understand what it is generally about, though it is mostly analogies. Last song on the album, Epilogue, just blows me away.

'So I lie down against your back, until we're both back in the hospital
But now it's not a cancer ward, we're sleeping in the morgue
Men and women in blue and white, they are singing all around you
With heavy shovels holding earth, you're being buried to you neck

I've woken up, I'm in our bed, but there's no breathing body there beside me
Someone must have taken you while I was stuck asleep
But I know better as my eyes adjust
You've been gone for quite a while now, and I don't work there in the hospital
They had to let me go'

I have lately been listening to the band Coheed and Cambria, a concept band. Each album is a volume in the story of Coheed and Cambria and the bands writer and leader writes a Si-Fi comic book to go along with the record, I have never seen or read the comic book personally though. Interesting to hear, the songs are good on their own.

This is the first volume performed live.

Here are some of my favorite concept albums:
Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, The Wall, Animals
Husker Du - Zen Arcade
The Who - The Who Sell Out, Tommy, Quadrophenia
Green Day - American Idiot(I know that I'll probably get flamed for mentioning American Idiot, but it is a genuinely great album, in my opinion. It just gets tons of undeserved hate.)
