She's been gone for quite a few years now. She used to post here on WP before her passing. I didn't know her, or ever meet her. We exchanged messages a few times, but I never really communicated with her, partially because of fear, since she was 16, and I was in my 20s. But damned if I've forgotten her.

I feel such deep sadness that she was in pain, and couldn't find a way out. I worry if she suffered in the end. I don't know how she died but I hope it was quick and painless. I feel so sad that she was alone in the end, and felt alone. She was beautiful, based on the pictures I saw of her, and intelligent and deeply soulful. So much to offer.

I sometimes think I could've done something in some small way. If I had communicated with her more, talked to her more. If i had known she was in such pain. I feel such sorrow that a young life is gone. How odd the things and people we remember. I think about her more, than I do people I've known for years, and went to school with.

Do you all remember her?

I remember her. My ex actually had a crush on her and saved her pictures to his computer which were probably the character from her favorite movie. I forget what it was called. I don't remember if she ever posted her real photos here or not. She would be 22 now. I remember she was only 15 when she joined here and was a moderator.

I didn't know her very well, but she was a gentle and complex person.

Although I was neither member nor lurker at the time Starbuline was active on WP, I have often seen people speak of and remember her with fondness.

The recent passing of someone else has reminded me of the importance of holding on to the memory of what someone has shared with us; whether we knew them in person, or only online.

we have had other members attempt suicide;some sucessfuly-can remember one other old regular who sucessfuly atempted it;a male cant remember his nick, and then there was william freund,he was an aspie obsessed with guns in a legal way, bullied on here by grammar nazis.
had joined WP just before he shot his two neighbours and himself dead-he had just started on a dodgy anti pyschotic geodon which made him homicidal, given the high level of depression in autism spectrum disorders there are probably a lot more members who have killed themselves but they dont have the friends to come back here and tell us.

That's really nice that you remember her, but sad that you feel bad about it.

How did anybody find out that she died?

Edit: I just saw Kingdom of Rats explanation.

Yes, I remember her. It was very sad when she died- I hadn't realized she was so young though. I remember how wistful her avatar image was. It's always a shock when someone resurrects an old thread that she posted in.

Yes I remember her, she was very articulate and seemed lika nice person. If I remember, she was interested in all things Russian and had actually taught herself to speak it?

Sometimes I wonder: how many of the people who threaten suicide on WP actually go ahead and attempt it? Is it high?

It's so sad...
Now I realize that one of the most common posts here in WP is people asking for help... Isn't it depressing?
Autistic life being so full of hardships and suffering many come to the conclusion it's not worth living. And there isn't much we can do about it.. We were born this way. And yet we face rejection as if we did something wrong.
How sad

Coming back for the first time in a long, long time just to post on this subject.

I'll remember Sophie forever, her being my first girlfriend and having dated her for about a year, so we were obviously very close. She always had depression issues, something I suspect was born from being bullied while in school. She taught me a lot, namely that the world isn't peachy and perfect like I thought it was. But I try to remember the good in her, such as her kindness in wanting to help people. She did have a huge liking of Russia, and I actually received a nesting doll in the mail from a fellow WP member after she died. She also had a lovely cat named Schmoo and had lovely guitar playing ability. As for the film, that would be Lijla 4-Ever, which isn't the most uplifting film or the healthiest film her for her to be interested in, but there it is.

I'm not sure if her death has taught me something, but I came into her life during a hard time and by interacting with her I probably gave her an entire extra year among us, during which we had some good laughs and fun times on top of the usual difficulties of a relationship with someone like her and the Pacific ocean separating us. So if she did teach me something, it's that we should really make the most of our time and have some fun without it being at the expense of others.
