I'm curious to know Autism tv continues to define autism as a remarkable persons disorder ie a hot model with high education with a partner (and than some) , when we know the reality is quite the opposite after all world expert Dr Tony Attwood reckons "autism is anxiety looking for a target " I wish he was wrong. If I wasn't such a retro grouch (gaming reference  ) I would be happy for them for being nt, though it's really hard for me to do so , not that I wish ill will on any one .

I wish they would touch base on this I guess I find it particularly upsetting when I read ludicrous comments on the www that people with mild psychiatric disorders like anxiety shouldn't be on the disability pension clearly they have never heard of "severe" anxiety and you can bet they house have not heard of depersonalization/ derealization disorder or even anxiety induced psychosis . Ditto that their unawares that rates of suicide for anxiety are as high as depression , these same persons are probably the ones who believe those that suicide are "weak willed" You know they say pity the ignorant though they make it hard to do so.

Any one else feel this way ? Are their asd types who don't have co morbid and I'm talking bad enough that it stops them being nt. I presume even the healthiest nt have niggling issues?

Yes, there are autistics without co-morbids. I only have a ASD diagnosis and there are three others in my group who only have ASD diagnosis. There are seven with co-morbids. Sorry I can't help answer the rest for you, it sounded more like a personal area of contention to me.

From what I've read it is pretty common amongst those on the spectrum, especially anxiety.

I am not sure as to what the "autistic pride movement" is that you are referencing, I know a lot of what is posted online that claims autistics are better than "NT" isn't what I would consider to be pride as much as it is....probably not something that needs addressing.

I know for myself that I don't take pride in not being able to communicate on the emotional level that is required to get by day by day, but I also try not to get caught up in that deficit or blame others for it. I instead try and focus on what I can do and strengthen those skills so that I can be productive for me. I think that is the message that should be taken from the videos that you referenced. It isn't meant for you to feel less than. It's a message to show that you are capable of more than you allow yourself to acknowledge.

I don't have any comorbids and my ASD is somewhat apparent. Professionals and people with enough experience in this area can spot it very quickly. I'm still atypical in other ways (i don't have some traits commonly associated with ASD) and it's not really apparent to those who haven't met autistic adults before.

well your ok it's other annoying autisitics who it feels like their sticking it to us for their good fortune , I shant name names. Didn't you claim you where out side the norm by saying your loud etc (was it you ?) and I suggested you may be depressive , You know if we grow up a certain way we are not aware it's "off" untill it becomes to much , I thought I was depressive for a while their though it turns out I confused adrenline rush with mania. 8O

It's funny I have a friend, one and only  , who claims he doesn't have any mental problems yet I stongly suspect his manic depressive, my type of people

the thing is numbers for this seem to be all over the place , I've read as low as 25 % to a high of 80 % have depressive or anxiety disorders, no matter what it is , it's safe to assume the figure is much higher than the Nt's .
