Do you mean to say you're a special education teacher specializing in autism, or work in a private school for autistic children? How old are the kids you teach, are they all classic autistic or more spread on the spectrum? Furthermore, what is your degree in, where are you located, what's your favorite flavor of ice cream and what do I have in my pocket?

My advice is to be prepared to answer questions.

It depends why you are joining. It looks like you may be advertising a product to sell. I suggest you read the forum rules thoroughly and check with a Mod on what is and what is not allowed as far as advertising goes.

What btw is an 'Autism Teacher' ? We of course know how to be autistic. Are you an accredited teacher with a degree ?

I agree with Sacrip; more info is needed. There is a certain wariness on these boards concerning professionals so you may be asked a few questions to establish yourself. Welcome, nevertheless.

By being an "autism teacher"? That's a noble goal, but I'm not sure you can teach autism, I think you just have to be born to it.

:duh: Oh, sorry, I forgot - we don't get sarcasm. My bad.

I ,too, would like to know what an 'autism teacher' is. I'd also like to know why a self-professed 'autism teacher' is looking for newbie advice on something relating to his own professional interests.

edit: Ok, I checked your profile. You appear to be some kind of salesman and/or quack who teaches Applied Behavior Analysis. What exactly were you hoping to learn here?

I get the feeling we won't be hearing from him again.

By autism teacher, I am one who teaches children with Autism. My background is in Psychology and have spent several years as an ABA therapist. I am now a physical education instructor at a private school for children with Autism, and yes my goal is to create new ways of helping children on the spectrum on a larger scale.
