What does ATTV stand for? :\

I love Carl, one of the better characters that show has made.

Ahh.. And why is it a problem that Autism Speaks sponsor this? I'm new to all this... All I really know about Autism Speaks is that horrible "I am Autism" commercial they made.

Because Autism speaks no longer represents the interest of autistic people and their well being. There more interested in eugenics then anything. Their ultimate goal is to be able to detect autism in unborn babies and recommend having an abortion or if detectable in couples before conception, that they recommend that they not have children of there own. Autism Speaks was built from the ground up based on the fears of parents with autistic children rather then on the needs of autistics themselves.

It was an attempt at learning to work together, hoping to teach Autism Speaks that there's a better way that doesn't involve treating us like subhuman, tragic signs of a nationwide calamity. It didn't really work. Autism Speaks stayed just as nasty as they've always been and still doesn't let us speak for ourselves.

Sorry, what is eugenics? That is ridiculous.

Ridiculous? For any NT parent out there to know that their child has autism is one of their worse nightmares. That's why Autism speaks is so bent on eradicating autism from the face of the earth. whether it be by a cure or eugenics. The eugenics may never be forced, but it sure will be pressured.

I meant what you are saying they stand for seems ridiculous. I don't know what eugenics means.

Eugenics is attempting to control evolution by eliminating "undesirable" genetics....think Nazi-ism and the Holocaust.
Basically if you're on the autism spectrum, "Autism Speaks" thinks you shouldn't have been born at all.
