Hello ladies and gentleman. New here today.
Today I got my diagnosis, so I felt it would be important to join an online community, and this seemed like the most active. I'm a new Aspie, yet a little mature (29). I have lots of questions, but I also hope that maybe I can help others in some way.
I'm a bit of a lost sheep, and have been throughout life. I've never really held down a job due to my issues. I dropped out of college. Was bullied out of school. In the end I felt comfortable in my own home, and have since self taught myself everything I know. I enjoy my computer (MacBook pro ftw!), and programming. I do freelancing from time to time but I find when making an interest a "job" I lose interest in the job task and the client suffers and I get a bad rep. So I avoid it completely. I stick to procrastinating. But, I spend most of my day reading books and programming for fun. I try to help out on open source projects and help others learn programming. I'm considering setting up a YouTube channel to help others learn to write code, although everything I plan tends to fall on its face so for the moment I'll just stick to what I've been doing for the past 14 years.
Ok, that last paragraph went off on a bit of a tangent. Ignore me. I do that.
There's nothing much to really type. I won't bore you all with the details of my Aspergers, but you'll likely see me posting around the forum and responding to threads.
Glad to be here Hailing from the UK.
