What is the reason of reason? Why is there a reason to reason and what is the reason of reasoning when most lack wanting to reason?

Apeing the "meaning" thread doesnt quite work.

Its "What is the reason FOR reason?".

Not OF reason.

The reason for reason is to figure stuff out so we all can survive.

Scientists say that even the great apes can occasionally reason.

If thats so then that would mean that each ape is a "hairy reasoner"!

And what is the reason for that? Is there a reason to have a reason of survivng for that reason?

The reason for the season is to make you purchase more greeting cards and more material junk.

If there is reason beyond raisinable doubt, then the raisin shall be tried for being less raisinable than the current.

I rest my reasonable case.

Reason is nothing more than one's ability to look at the world and draw conclusions from anything observable…to include one's own ideas, emotions, etc. "Reasoning" is merely a by-product of the thinking process. It's not any more complicated than that unless you choose to make it so.

There is no "reason" for reason. The ability to think and draw conclusions is axiomatic to logic. It's one of those things that you CANNOT observe without assuming it to exist, i.e. question-begging, since it directly utilizes the thought process itself. You cannot prove, for instance, that the mind exists without using mental activity to describe or define it.

I'd almost say "nice try" for a good discussion…except there's nowhere to go with it except playing silly word games with raisins… :P

But you have not proven it to the jury "beyond raisinable doubt".

The rasin has raisined with the jury as the judge for good raisin finds the defendant raisinably delicious!

How about that. Reason does not lead to magical truth (tm) but not following reason leads to absurdity and stupidity.

"Reason" does not exist any more than Harry Potter.

Ok…and what process did you use to come to that conclusion?
