That show is awesome but Rick does not know as much about it in that ep as he thinks he does. He made a love potion for Morty but forgot to warn him that the virus will mutate if the girl he used it with had the flu virus. Everyone except his family started being affected by it. Rick tried to come up with an antidote that made things worse. Everyone but them mutated into some weird creatures & Rick & Morty jumped ship to an alternate dimension where they died instead of creating the potion so they took their dead selves place.

As I recall they landed in a dimension where Rick got lucky and reversed the Cronenberg-ing of the world and then him and Morty died shortly after.

Rick and Morty is a decent show.

The way they pretty much justified the mother wanting to cheat on the father on the meeseeks episode was slightly offputting but I will probably get back to it eventually.

That is a running joke throughout the series. Jerry is a beta male with a constant fear of losing his wife.

I caught up on that early on.

I am just not 100% cool with a cartoon show, which is likely being watched by impresionable children, taking a gag like this that far, that is all

Understandable. Kids shouldn't really be watching Adult Swim shows in the first place.
