If you go to school with them on day, text em back and forth several times, and then go to school with them again next week?

Just hang out within the context of school.

The most common way to pursue something like this is to float a suggestion as a trial balloon.

For example, "Maybe we could get some coffee sometime". (It doesn't have to be "coffee" it could be any innocuous activity.)

The reaction, "I don't know, I am pretty busy" usually means not interested.

The reaction, "Yeah, that sounds great" usually means there is reciprocal interest.
