| Since there are British people here, can someone tell me where the toilet is if it isn't in the bathroom? |

| It can be in the bathroom but we also just say "in the toilet" meaning a room where there is just a toilet. Hope this helps |

i never use the word "toilet", as it's common - it should be "lavatory" or even "loo". one's toilet is one's ablutive and cosmetic preparations, from "toilette".
"toilet"... shudder... |

vetivert I suppose it depends where you come from up here it not considered
"common" to say the word toilet in this manner. We do sometimes refer to it as lavatory though |

I forgot to say that I was asking because I am from Britain too.
I've always thought it was funny that Americans call the toilet the bathroom. If there's no bath, how can it be a bathroom? |

| I was born in London, but grew up mostly in Surrey, and now I live in Devon, with my husband, who is originally from Lancashire! |
