It's 2:44 am. I've been trying to go to sleep since 11:00. I was so tired at the time and now I feel wide awake. For the past few weeks I've been staying up all night, going to bed sometime around 6AM - 8AM and waking up at times ranging from 2PM - 4PM. I just can't seem to get any sleep until I'm to the point where my eyes are begging for my body to go to sleep. Now that I can't sleep I'm wondering if I should keep trying or just wait until very early tomorrow night and finally sleep. On occasion I've been getting small 3-or-so-second spells of lightheaded-ness. Does anyone else reading this have insomnia and have advice?

I pretty much just lay there staring at the ceiling and worrying about having nightmares which is irrational because I'll never fall asleep anyways.

I've pretty much given up the circadian thing. The clock is generally stuck on a 25 hour cycle, and I'm having periods where I only sleep a few hours now and then, and sometimes I have periods where I'm only awake a few hours now and then. I suspect there are cycles within cycles, but I've never analyzed it. Sleeping pills could be a helpful remedy if you need to get up early.
