Hey! I've been reading the ASD literature for a few months now. Finally decided to "come out" as having a differently wired brain than most. From what I can tell, only experts in the field have a reliable track record for diagnosing ASDs, and unfortunately there are none within a 100 mile radius from me. I'm definitely high functioning, though I also suffer from emotional and social 'life-disturbances'. Having this perspective feels like a major step towards taking life into my own hands, and I am interested to see how this will influence me in the long run.

So far, I've really enjoyed the things I've read on here! You guys are great. Cool community.

"...it is my considered opinion that you have Asperger's syndrome. I am sorry but there isn't much I can do to help you." words of the psychiatrist who dx'ed me in 2003.
