Maybe it's what's turning people into a-holes. Edit: I mean people generally. Not on WP

If you like that article you should check out their guide to 80s action. It's pretty funny.

I remember playing a PC game a few years ago where you raced on the streets of major cities, like Paris.

One day I played it solidly for a few hours, then I had to get off the computer and drive my son to a friends house. I found myself taking corners too quickly and a little heavy on the pedal. That's the first time I've ever been affected that way.

They can be great for short periods. I have a specific beef with MMORPG's that use a range of underhanded techniques to get you addicted. Some of it is no different morally from getting someone hooked on a drug, as far as I can see.

Here's something Cracked.com wrote about it: http://www.cracked.com/article_18461_5- ... icted.html

I had one of the few anti-gun liberals at work (sheep among wolves  ) ask me if my manager knew I was playing FPS games on my iPhone.
My deadpan reply: "Probably so, but it's a safe bet he'd rather I roam the corridors and chambers of my iPhone killing people by the dozen then doing it in THIS building with a real gun and real people by the dozen".
He never bugged me about that again.

I don't play mmorpgs.

I play battlefield, gta and elderscrolls/fallout.
I have pleanty of free time and if not for videogames it'd be spent crying laying in bed depressed. they are a distraction i often have to bring myself to play. they sort of fun once on it.

though I also don't care about acheivements, or collecting items . I often play games and get very few of them. where as some other people strive to get them all.

I don't play games that cost money per month. its why i won't get elderscrolls online, that and I dont like mmos you build your character then some guy who plays the game 24/7 comes along and rapes you and takes your stuff. no thanks.

atleast with battlefield. everyone has equal stuff. while I may not be good, most game are enjoyable. and when the one comes where the other team destroys us over and over I just get off.

That site looks like a satire site. I'm not sure if I should take that article seriously.
