Well...hi. Since I'm new here, I might as well introduce myself, and see where it goes. I grew up not knowing about my condition, which was hard. Lots of bullying and rejection. A number of years ago, my mom was doing research, and came across asperger's syndrome. She half jokingly implied that perhaps I might have it, although has never said anything else since. When I looked into it, suddenly everything made sense.

I am definitely not a social person. No facebook, no twitter, nor anything of the sort. Very few friends, who I rarely see or talk to. This is the first time that I have decided to talk on the internet. I guess I should try it at least once.

So...ya. I've never been the kind to go out to make friends, but I finally decided to try it for once, and try to find people who are more like me than anyone who I currently know. Perhaps someone who actually understands what it's like.

Those parts sound very similar to me. My mother found out that Asperger´s syndrome exists because she read the word and wanted to know what it is, then she did the same what your mother did and said I might have it. I was curious and looked into it myself and like you described suddenly very much made sense about me and my life.

I also don´t have facebook or twitter. I only use e-mail to keep in contact with people I know. I prefer that to telephones because writing is an easier way to communicate for me.

@Nightingale121
thanks. It's good to know I'm not alone. I also find it much easier to write than to talk.

@Anon
thanks

Yes, suddenly everything makes sense! I have been reading people's introductions tonight and that thought is the most common one I have read, so yes, you are with many who actually understands you! :D
