Many on the spectrum are pretty young for their age and I imagine that older women by and large are looking for more permanent relationships or are just out of mrriage and looking for the opposite. Is it a bad idea to try and date out of your age range or are there ways round the above problems. Im talking 20's dating 30's or early 40's

No, it's cool. It's called the cougar phenomenon. Jennifer Lopez is with a 20 year old boy, I think.

I love it. I feel like older women get me a lot more than younger women. I feel like younger women want young dating bullcrap and older women are much more serious, open, honest, and ready to settle down. Granted I feel like I look older and I'm more "old and miserable" than "young and happy" so I've always felt like I'm a few decades older. That and I feel like I have philosophies on dating and chivalry that would have been more prominent decades ago as well.

Of the dozen or so women I've been madly in love with, only this past year have I fallen for any women more than a year younger than me. Unfortunately I'm still trying to get over one now.

40 year old cougars tend to pay more attention to their looks and overall fitness than most single 25 year old girls these days.

I don't think age difference matters much with dating. But if you are looking for a permanent relationship I think it better to be closer in age, like within 5 years or so, just for practical reasons. Its easier to go thru things together in life then be in significantly different stages.

I think it depends on your personality & what you want in a relationship. I'm immature & behind for my age & felt like people in general treated me like a child & I wanted to be supportive of my partner instead of my partner acting like a parent to me so younger women seemed alot more appealing to me than older 1s because they can become parent/child relationship.

People can and do date out of their age range all the time... both men and women. I've always liked older men (5-15 years my senior), but because I've only interacted with them as a student or employee I tend to feel like a child next to them.

yeah, cougars dont last sometimes. you end up screwing your mind up in your 20's then it gets worse in your 40's. doesnt work. you see i f****d up for being with a 25 year old woman, but at least i got my thrilling time kissing her. hot as hell. but that moment went like firecrackers burnt to the ground. :(

If it works, great, but imo, it's entirely superficial. I'd say it's true for most of these scenarios, it's superficial, just filling a fantasy, or someone has dominance/submissive issues going on. Either way, I can't think of a situation where it's ideal for a long term relationship.

I don't think it matters at all as long as you like someone, that's all that should be relevant. Age should not make any difference but its instilled into us from an early age that certain things are the norm. i think we worry to much about what others think and what is deemed normal but as long as your happy then that's all that matters.

There is nothing wrong with this, but bare in mind on average there is large differnce in maturity between 20 year on and 30 year old, due to life experience.

If you are pining over a 30+ year old at your age they are probably not interested. Only if there a clear indication of interest, then take this option seriously.

No, I don't think there is anything wrong with it. I've dated several younger guys, including a 21-year-old when I was 30. I've never been the one to initiate it though, so I am NOT a cougar. I actually would prefer to date an older guy but it is always the younger ones who ask me out.

Well, I'm 52 and I would have no problem if a 20-30 year old wanted to date me. Unfortunately, that isn't very likely.
