I'm really not sure what I am tbh, diagnostically speaking if a label must be used. I'm the type that likes alone time, but also gets energy from interaction with others and often talk to others out of boredom. I like going to new countries. I am constantly in need of stimulation. I'm able to say what people want to hear from reading their body language, though sometimes openly show indifference and irritation at how ridiculous "normal" people are. I don't feel that close to anyone, and in circles of friends I am that guy who sometimes is there, and a lot of the time isn't because of his own projects. I love sex when I engage in it and easily become aroused, but, I don't care about getting a girl to have sex with me, and can go for months to a year or more without sex. I have empathy for living creatures until made really angry, then it switches off and they become vermin in my eyes. I also stabbed my dad as a teen, but will not write my intent on this. I like animals, and want to start conservation projects to protect endangered species. Am I just an eccentric neurotypical or would I have aspergers or something?

the lines between ASD folk and neurotypicals are not fine by any means, and it's ever easy to determine who goes where. i was diagnosed with "autism" (just autism) when i was 4 and nowadays i relate to most of what you wrote in your post quite well.
i am not a very big fan of labeling everything, like personality traits and quirks as "illnesses", because that just seems to reinforce the idea of one strict, cookie-cutter standard that is normal and the ideal. this pathologization seems contrary to a society claiming to be inclusive and accepting.

i also enjoy my much-loved alone time, i have it mostly at night when everyone is asleep but when i talk to people and have a nice conversation i too get energy, even if it was a particularly hard one to initiate/go through. when i'm bored i strike convo sometimes too, it's not easy to initiate but it's nice when it ends. i'm more inclined towards people i already know than strangers though..as per circles of friends, do you feel ever like the tag-along?

never had sex but yeah, travel is really nice. where have you been, any favorites/least favorites? the only foreign country i've been to is mexico, i've been to BC (north), jalisco and zacatecas, we have family there. i want to go to finland or vietnam one day.

i couldn't tell you if you seem more NT like or aspie like, i've heard of both that have similar traits. but as one that was diagnosed, i can relate to most of that.

Hi, I agree actually. It's like any differences must be given a label in order to single some people out, a kind of more subtle witch hunt since as a species most are savages hiding behind a mask of civility and egalitarianism. At one point Homosexuality was in the DSM, so, that tells you something about Psychiatry... Sometimes it's like accepted prejudice, yes? Down to some groups thinking there is a "cure" for predispositions that are differences, and not illnesses.

That's cool :D Always good to share interests. I've been to Canada, France, England, Wales, Netherlands and Majorca. Parts of my home nation Ireland too, like Waterford and Kerry :) I like France, but when I was there the people were very rude about my not speaking French. I decided I probably should learn some the next time I visit haha.

Netherlands was amazing. People there are friendly enough. Cardiff in Wales has a mostly chill vibe, relaxed. Canada...I just didn't like Canada. Staff are amazingly helpful but the people I met gave off a really bad impression. It might have just.been Toronto airport staff, and some people in Windsor Ontario, but, I just didn't like the attitude there.

England is cool. Not London Airport, obviously that was irritating like any airport, but the people are interesting, very eccentric and varied. Waiting in queue for customer service at a train station, people get so bored they check each other out. I noticed that, as Irish girls are mostly less obvious, but English girls just stare and send the right signals if interested.

So, where've you been and where'd you like to go next?

true, true! though not all labels are bad, or they were at one point but not anymore, such as homosexual, which as you said was in the DSM but it's since lost most of its negative qualities and become accepted and embraced, in the west at least.
it's impossible to live in a completely label-less world, they serve their function to sort of separate people into individual groups that share a trait/quality, and others may be glad to know that there are people with experiences and a "name" like their own, and it does sometimes increase awareness of diversity.

but still, they can be prone to negative generalizations like stereotypes and "all ___ are ___"...and if one wears a certain label sometimes someone will come and make assumptions about him/her based off of what they know about others that associate themselves with that name...it's annoying, i've had it happen.

ah, so you are from ireland! cool cool, i was born and raised in sunny california and live here to this day. i remember going to hilly san francisco for my 14th birthday, riding the cable cars and doing to the beach. we went to hearst castle on the way back, not many people there fortunately but the neptune pool was great...it's drained now because of the drought! i went to yosemite and bass lake too, few years before that.

i want to to to the french countryside, or maybe the mediterranean south coast? with some knowledge of french of course. where in france did you go? mexico was interesting, they get all the rain we don't get and you can even smell it.
i went in july, we had three short lived thunderstorms during my 9 day stay there, every time the lightning flashed the power would go out in the whole town...
