Do a little research on Chinese foot binding, then look into what the high heels do to a womens spine and feet.

My advice,don't.

The whole point of a high heel shoe is to stick your butt out further...you can do that with out a foot deforming shoe.

I'm pigeon-toed so it's pretty much impossible without tripping and falling over constantly. Trust me, I've tried. I had some really cute heels for homecoming, but I ended up walking around barefoot for must of the dance. At lease everyone else was doing the same thing! Smile

you mean it's actually possible to WALK in them? i thought one could only stand around (with practice) and kind of wobble a short way....

ditto on the damage to your spine. those shoes are not healthy. and that's not saying anything about the ligament injuries when you go over sideways on one of them.

if you have to do it, be careful. Sad

I walk on my toes alot..but I can't wear high heels.
Most of them are too narrow for the front of my foot, and when I wear them, the blood seems to rush to my toes, causeing them to swell up..lose circulation...etc..
Plus there is the fear of twisting one of my tiny bird ankles.....nope...it's just crocs rubber clogs for me....till they wear out..

Ehh, I don't, I'm only 15. But I've tried them on and it was hard to walk in. But I kept practicing and got used to it. But I have no use for them.

I used to wear them when I did secretarial work. But due to a traumatic car accident in my teens, I have abnormal curvatures in the spine, leading to chronic back problems. When my chiropractor advised against high heels, it made perfect sense to me!

One of my lifelong ambitions is to wear high heels, I love shoes and higher heels elongate the leg. The problem is I can't wear the damn things I don't know why is it cos I'm over-sensitive; I don't like the hot burning feet and aching calves or is cos of dodgy balance, the pain outweighs the visual effect. I have been doing some balance exercises which have helped my unsteady feet but I don't think heels will ever like me. I tried some of those MBT trainers today they are very good for posture very pricey though. But one day I would love some leather smart heels

I wear high heals a lot as dress-shoes, and I have never really had a problem walking in them at all. I *do* have a problem walking in those horrid spikey heals. I can stand in one place in them, but not actually walk.

...this is actually a problem, because the shoes my sister has chosen for me to wear in her wedding are black, very spikey heals. I geuss I just have to practice. But if the heal is wide enough (Unlike these horrid things my sister has chosen, which can't be more than a couple centimeters) I really have no problem walking, or even running.

Yuck, I hate the look of high heels and would loathe to wear them. Give me my boots or sandals anyday.

Hrm...all my boots, and most of my sandals have some sort of heal...(Though for many of the sandals it is a "wedge")

I make sure my shoes have no heel at all... I am already tall and would hate to be taller.
