Hi
I need to break a life-long habit of sleeping on my front. I've only just learnt that it is terrible for back & neck health.
One recommendation was to sleep with clothes pegs attached to the chest area of my pyjamas. This didn't work when I tried it though.
Does anyone have any help on this?
Thanks for helping. |

Wear a pajama top with large, round, uncomfortable buttons on the front!
Or get a pillow that is designed for front sleepers. In all honesty, I sleep very well on my front and not too well on my back. |

"lying on your front" pillows sound great - what are they, then? as in, what's the design (cos i'll make my own).
i am an inveterate sleeper on my side/front too. never quite got the hang of sleeping on my back.
if that's the way you sleep, captain, i suggest it's not a habit you have to break but the way you SLEEP. accomodate it, rather than trying to change it.
on your front - you could do without pillows altogether - i THINK that's the way to do it. on your side - make sure you supposrt your neck. i use two pillows, one which fits into my neck under the one which allows my head to be nearer the mattress.
you could always chop your head off, which would alleviate the problem entirely... |

I've thought of doing that every now and again. |

well, then i hope you have some VERY efficient washing stuff - the blood will play HAVOC with your pillows, front sleeping or otherwise...
best thing to do is to spit on the area covered in blood, leave it for twenty minutes or so, then use COLD water to rinse it. it works beautifully, trust me. way hay - a new thread - vetivert's household hints! Is a lager bed like the Deluxe version of a water bed then? _________________ "They would not shut up 'til they were paid, but they still go for peanuts when coated with cyanide.... On Wro-ong-Plchchchchchchahhh...net...." |

why is this in the games forum, Brain?
nevermind- WHY do you sleep on your front? is there another reason besides habit? Habits are really scarey to break. Maybe you shouldn't worry about it unless you get a sore neck. And maybe you are playing vigorous games in yr sleep anyway and you don't know it- your body just wakes up on your tummy.
Cool, ay?

You could probably try one of those memory foam mattresses or pillows (the type that take the shape of the person using it). I would also recommend not changing your sleeping habits because everyone's body is different, and so they go to sleep different than others do. Not everyone goes to sleep on their back; I like going to sleep on my side or my stomach. Sometimes, I think that the floor is better than my bed, except that causes me to be sore in the morning if I sleep on my arm or shoulder. It's just because I like to sleep in a cooler area rather than a warmer area. _________________ I am a 20 year old woman who lives in Washington State and was diagnosed with Asperger's at 9.
