I searched for "alka-seltzer in beer" on google and didn't find anything. I'm too curious not to do it. It's been 5 hours since I got off of work (although it seems more like one or two) and I stopped at walmart to get a 40...but they didn't sell them and I ended up getting a 4 pack of 'tilt' which is some weird energy-drink beer, which actually doesn't taste too horrible. I'll post a follow-up, unless a bunch of people make fun of me before I get the chance Razz I'm sure it won't be any different than drinking a cup of alka seltzer and a can of beer seperately but I've already started drinking, so I typed this Cool

PS... I heard "last child" by aerosmith on the radio at work tonight, so i have some weird magnetic force pulling me toward my playstation with guitar hero 2 in it... so it might be a little bit. Sorry I'm such a weirdo... and has anybody recommended adding an emoticon with a head rolling in a circle? It would fit perfectly with this "out there" post... Ninja TMNT will do.

The only question I really have is, why alka-seltzer?
Other than that, have at it I'm always pro weird science experiments.

My nose has been running, and nothing seems to work better than alka-seltzer cold&cough...but...

Wow, what a revelation!!... the whole tab wouldn't fit in the can so once I broke a tab and half and dropped half in, before I had the chance to drop the other half in, my beer had doubled in size!!! Meaning it was fizzing out of the can and beginning to spill onto the floor.

I drank quickly and salvaged most of it Confused

Only one way to find out if it's not on google, right? I'll let you know if i get some crazy buzz or something Jester not likely.

If I really wanted my beer to expand I guess I could have just shaken it up.

Well, as long as you drink about 1/3 of your beer before you drop the seltzer in, it's a perfect way to get a hangover and prevent one at the same time.

(and the saltiness of the alkaseltzer is kindof good mixed with the beer...i guess...after all, it's that hippie energy drink beer...)

Mhm, mhm, good observation.

You could always mass produce this product if it does create some incredible effect and than write a big article on its history and creation on wikipedia.

I've done weird shit for the sake of science or outright boredom. However these two are normally quite the same for me.
Those "hey.. I wonder if/what........" moments.

After 4 beers (after all I drank at work) and one alka-seltzer-beer, I went outside to kill of the battery to my RC car before i recharge it. Glad I didn't have to talk to anyone; I don't think I looked too drunk when some lady drove past, she smiled and waved after I moved the car out of the way, but I was feeling pretty out of it... but I couldn't drive the damn thing if i was really wasted though, the throttle's too touchy.

I need to stop drinking. I really only do it when my girlfriend's out of town and I'm free of ...reason not to drink Crying or Very sad However, at first thought of my dad hitting the floor like a tree falling over, I could easily stop... but I think that's all I have going for me.

Sorry about the me me me stuff. I really didn't realize how bad I was about it until yesterday when I discovered this forum.

And as for what the alkaseltzer-beer did, not much. You could probably mix it with yoo-hoo, and if you could stomach it, it wouldnt' be different than water&alka-seltzer plus 4 beers. I don't have a headache, and I feel a little clearer-headed than I normally would after drinking 4 beers at work and 4 once I got home, which I don't think I've ever done before. When i didn't have a job and I was a freshman doing shots it was a different story. But there's not really any point. Water is cheaper than beer, that's about all I learned. And yeah, a glass would have been a good call.

Now I'm listening to no quarter by led zeppelin... lesson learned Laughing Laughing

I used to have a shirt that said that, it vanished with the waves of time. Or the waves of the washer that shrunk it to half its original size. either way, cool sig Very Happy
