How many of you have heard of this game? I happen to own it, and i must say i'm impressed. I am now freelancing, and my next story mission is Mission 5. I am in Bretonia, and my ship is a "Crusader" Bretonian Heavy Fighter, for which i am finding it imposssible to find a laser based gun for it. all the bretonians have are tachyon turrets, and they cost too much energy when used. _________________ Here we are, goin' far,

This was one of my favorite games ever. I absolutely loved the universe and the fact that you can do anything you want, and pick up and follow the 'main storyline' whenever you feel like it. I didnt get too much out of it after I completed the story, though. I would love to see a sequel to Freelancer but I dont think it sold enough well to warrent it. |

FINALLY! Somebody actually replied to the topic!
I have Freelancer on my dad's computer. I got to the fifth mission, where Juni and Trent had to rescue Dr. Sinclair
(the black archeologist lady, i think that's her name.) But then, my dad kicked me off his computer permanently, until he graduates from college this december. It's really not his game. It was given to him by his father-in-law (my granddad). _________________ Here we are, goin' far,

I'd second that... But I've played better games... So I'll say Freelancer is one of the best I've played in a long long while. :: nods ::

I own freelancer as well.
Just to say for those of you who have completed the story line, try doing a google for the hostile univerese modification that was made by the user community. It apparently is mean't to extend the life of the game by quite abit.
If you want some alternatives to Freelancer heres a few I can recomend
Elite, Elite Frontier, Elite First Encounters
Universal Combat/Battlecruiser series
Eve online
X3 Reunion, I'd definatly check this out you can do practically everything you can do on freelancer plus the economy is very realistic and responds to what happens in the universe. There is a story line but its more an introduction to the actual game itself then part of the main game.
What I quite like about it is you cango into business by building factories and mines of your own and also if you have the money you can invest in a fleet of destroyers and battleships/carriers (think the big ships in freelancer) So you can have your own corporate/mercantile empire in the universe. Plus you can engage in wars against the various factions and races in the universe and they interact with each other all the time (so you get wars/border disputes etc) |
