I am a huge fan of NCIS!

Does anyone else enjoy this programme?

I mentioned this on another thread but I'll mention it again...

I feel the following charatres may have or show signs of Asperger Syndrome:

Special Agent Timothy McGee (aka Thom E. Gemcity) and Forensic Specialist Abby Sciuto.

I am also thinking that perhaps Chief Medial Examiner Dr Donald "Ducky" Mallard may also have Asperger's. He rambles on with stories oblivious most times to others wanting him to "get on with it" or just plain bored by them. He is very focused on his job to an obcessive point (even talking to the bodies). He dosen't seem to have any interests or social life outside of his job and lives with his 96 year old mother. He seems socially awkward much of the time.

My mum enjoys this program very much. But In terms of the characters, I do prefer McGee, Abby, and 'Ducky'. (Alliteration city, or what) Ziva David isn't too bad either.

One of my two favorite shows. Abby and Ducky have some AS traits, but that could also be mild OCD. I've been a fan of David McCallum since The Man From U.N.C.L.E. in the 60s. Come to think of it, his character then was introverted and very focused on his assignments and was more of a weapons expert than his partner, who was more of a socializer.

Ok, what do you think of David McCallum as having AS traits?

I like NCIS, though I found the story arc with DiNozzo's romance to be irritating. Then again, I hate DiNozzo, and wish they had killed him off instead of Caitlin Todd. (Yes, I know it's because Sasha Alexander wanted out of the series...) Wink

I love NCIS; since we moved to tiny village, and lost cable TV with old episodes of SG-1, NCIS rules!! When they show CSI I like that too, but there's something jubilatory about NCIS that I like. Something camp!!
CSI is glamorously gritty realism, and although i appreciate the pseudo-scientific detail and super grisly plots, it's a wee smidge too straight for me. Whereas most of the team in NCIS are massively odd, weird, outcast, social misfits, obsessives who i identify with passionately as a group.

I think it wouldn't be exaggerating to say i'm a bit in love with them as a team. Just watching the credits roll up i feel seriously intensely happy. Like I used to do with SG-1. Embarassed Cool Very Happy

In Ducky's case, I'd say mild OCD. McGee (or, as DiNozzo calls him, "the McGeek") is almost a textbook case of AS.

Abby's not so clear, but among her signs are marked eccentricity without caring what anyone else thinks, being more fond of her various computers and analysis machines than of people (to the point of naming them, and whispering to the DNA microassay machine that it's her favorite - whispering so the other machines won't get jealous), and of course her tendency to go haring off after a new conversational gambit because she thinks she's already explained everything to her coworkers clearly enough. I'd say AS, but stand ready to have this hypothesis disproved.

I like the show, too, and although I'm not sure whether the characters are Aspies, I agree that they're all social misfits of some kind. Also, I would really love to see McGee get to smack DiNozzo upside the head sometime.

does anyone else think the latest season with all "the frog" drama , jennys father, ( and jenny was better as a background character) etc, has just lost the old ncis touch? i do. The atmosphere is different, the characters have dissolved/frayed; and it has got so "soapy serious".
luckily they pass two old episodes after each new one so can recapture the old spirit. But it's a shame about the new one. Sad
