Ok, I think the thread title sums up what this thread is about nicely. Now, there may very well be a thread on this subject somewhere but I don't feel like digging, and besides, it is time for something new. So anyway, I invite you all to list songs you think are on or about asperger's, or something you think an Aspie can relate to. Lesser known songs by lesser known artists are also invited, in fact encouraged. This thread will help us discover songs we can relate to...Wink Feel free also to post lyrics of songs so we know why they are aspie in nature.

As this thread gets longer I will periodically update this first post to compile a more definitive list.

The ever growing list of Aspie Songs:

The Doors - People are Strange
Blind Melon - No Rain
XTC - Playground
The Smiths - How Soon Is Now?

I think Radiohead's OK Computer album is kind of an aspie album.

Apparently Thom Yorke has AS, but I don't know what evidence there is of it.

The lead singer of The Vines also has it. He's a cool guy.

'Strange Little Girl' by The Stranglers. Judging by the demographic of aspies you could say that 'Dancing With Myself' by Generation X could be an aspie anthem. That dog/man in the daft punk video is probably on the spectrum as well.

Well, on my Simon and Garfunkel CD, "I Am a Rock" and "Dangling Conversation" kind of remind me of my brain and social situation...
Does anyone listen to that type of music these days?

Okay, I updated the list to include all the songs you guys have suggested. Note: I didn't include any albums you guys may have suggested because this list is more about specific songs than albums. If there are specific songs on those albums then go ahead and list them. Smile

Keep the recommendations coming! Very Happy

a leeeeetle obscure, perhaps, but what about Tom Lehrer's "the elements"? this song is just a list of all the elements in the periodic table, set to the tune of "modern major general" by gilbert and sullivan. just the sort of thing an aspie might like, i reckon. well, i like it, anyway... Yep. Simon and Garfunkel music is cool. I got a boxset of their 5 albums.

Yeah, I Am A Rock is a very good find, I was thinking along the same lines. It kind of does have to do with Asperger's.
