fairly normal in the 'nuclear family' sense. I have a hubby and 2 kids. Here's the twist - we live with his parents (plenty of room for us with the house's layout though).
Luckily we all get on great.  |

The only normal one in my immediate family is my sister. I have HFA (however would be dx'ed with aspringers if I got DX'ed in the 90's instead of the 80's) My father is a nuclear engineer who is focused on his work and then doing stuff at home and he is definatly more aspie then I ever could be and my mom is OCD about the house being clean and both parents dont have any friends unfortunatly. I would say aside from my sister my family is odd.

DX'ed with HFA as a child. However this was in 1987 and I am certain had I been DX'ed a few years later I would have been DX'ed with AS instead. |

I was DX'ed w/ HFA in the 90s. But I don't think I heard much AS chat with anybody but online. I know of my AS now at least.

| I don't understand this concept of "normality." Maybe if you told me a bit more about this "normality," I would be more than happy to tell you. Nobody I know is that normal, I think those of this area make up a strange crowd. |

I'd say they're misfits for the most part. My nuclear family anyway.
My mom has one friend and a live-in boyfriend. He may have AS, he's very fixated on trains and cars, he's not interested in talking about much else.
My sister is at least introverted, she only has online friends.
My #2 brother is Anti-social or seems to be to me. He has "friends" but only people he hopes he can use as stepping stones.
My #4 brother is very much like me. He has one friend we go watch movies with on weekends.
My father was very childish, heavily fixated on the bible, and at odds with himself. He had few friends. I think he may have been AS, but maybe it was scar tissue like my mom thinks.
Anyways, none of us fit in well with normies. |

Do they seem to not have very focused interests?
Do they follow popular trends?
Are entertainment interests usually proportional to the budget involved in movies, games, music, etc? (eg that looks cool b/c I saw the commercial, even though its likely to be pretty mediocre)
Do parents push you to do things other kids do (like when my dad put me in little league, that was hell)?
If yes to any of these, they inhibit matrix's theory of normality. Hope that helps, as this concept seems to be in a beta test. Let's see...hmm...carry the 2x into the A sector...no...maybe...........

No one has the right to say who is "normal" and who is "abnormal" in this world...
