not sure whether everyone knows about this, but thought it might be useful...
the uk autism society suggested i take this test. normal people core about 16/50- anything over 32 is considered 'on the scale'.
HOWEVER- i do advise taking it several times, over several days.
it actually presupposes a high degree of self knowledge and self honesty, and some of the questions are- for me- ambivilant, or useless- eg- you can easily remember phone numbers? i NEVER have to as they are all in my phone. so i dont know. and other questions about numeracy- im PREFOUNDLY dyscalculate, and slightly dyslexic, so no- i dont get obsessed with numbers, as i cant read them properly in the first place. but a higher than normal percent of people with asperger's have dyscalculia, i read... and also- i dont have any weird collections or obsess over learning about something- but im constantly being told that having about 5-6,000 books is abnormal. but- i like reading, i have the space (sort of)- why not?
and there is NOTHING about hyper sensativity to senses, or synesthesia etc.
i did find it helpful, for all that, and was really surprised i scored over 32 (since i thought the quetions were rubbish)! |

Perhaps you forgot to include the test URL?

The AQ... A test that if often administered by professionals.
Anyone wanting to take the test (again?) type in autism quotient in google. That should work just fine to get an online version of the AQ. _________________ AS/HFA + ADHD

37--guess I'm an aspie. Every test I've taken suggests I have AS. I wouldn't get formally diagnosed. Tests are not accurate, really. I'm too biased to take my own test. What do I know about me, honestly?

I only got 25... but I know I'm a pretty mild aspie. And true, some of the questions seem slightly irrelevant imo, and don't necessarilly determine aspie traits. _________________ Thousands of candles can be lit from a single candle,

i thought it was useful for me as there was a chance i would have to pay for diagnosis, and was worried about paying out so much on my own hunch.
i scored 35 the first time, and then 38 and 40, which really surprised me, as i didnt think i could have aspbergers much, as i didnt think i fell into the catagories.
afterwards i found out about all the sensory sensativaties, which i have , which sounded much more like me, and read quotes from other people with asperger's, saying things, almost verbatim, which i have said. esp abuot things which i did not thnik wuold be at all relivant- just assumed it was me being 'weird' - like feeling like someone's speaking in a different language, not making eye contact etc...
and none of taht had come up in the initial narrow defination of aspberger's- teh tri- whatssit thing. or so i thought..
the test was helpful initially as it made me have more conviction to research furher,a nd get something done...
and apols agani for not adding the link!!!

I scored 45.
I think there was about 3 that I was unsure about though which tends to make me want to pick the score which would be more aspie like but the rest would be more accurate. Without them 3 i would have 42 points.
My Aspie score is high because most of my problems are social but I dont have the other problems like stimming and I am not sure if I meltdown. There is no visible signs from me.
Edit: I just done it a second time and scored 43 and I think this is a more accurate score because I was being more fair where I was unsure not picking the definite aspie answers.

if am remember correctly [only did it the once] the AQ test is more of an aspie test than autism/autism spectrum so it only uses HF based questions.whether it's changed or not since am tried it dont know, dont want to try at the moment as find tests very tiring.
RDOS' test is loads better, needs a lot more detail and can also unofficially test for classic autism,PDDNOS,adhd, schizoid and a lot more,am recommend trying that one as well.
rdos [it's maker] is also a member here. _________________ [LFAutie]
