I only recently came across Alizee but since then I have been hooked. She started her career very young and it's her early music that I'm in to, as much for her dance performances as her msic. Wow can she move.

Any Alizee fans here who share same feelings about her?

But most will prefer her legs and buttocks rather than her music Embarassed

I liked her first album. "Moi Lolita" and "Gourmandises" were just fun poppy songs, "Parler tout bas" was even a great romantic song! I never managed to hear her latest album though as it is not easy to find in record stores in non-French speaking countries.

PS: too bad she's married, I wouldn't mind being stuck in a lift with her myself really Embarassed

All of the albums are available by the usual legally-questionable sources. Wink

Although I am not into dance music or sugar pop, I have heard mention of her dance as the basis for the Female Night Elf dance in the online video game World of Warcraft. I looked it up and the resemblance was uncanny. You Tube for it sometime Cool

one of the comments on that youtube link about sums it up

i wanna tap that sh** so bad

see i'm not entirely sure people care about her music, unless its ageless like mozart. they buy into the personality/looks of the singer. i wonder if this person didn't look this way, but sounded the same, would people take notice... or even care?

Yes, but the number of fans would be smaller. I think however you're better off with a small fanbase that cares about your music rather than selling thousands of records to people who just want to look at your shapes and figures. So the smaller fanbase (when excluding those who only care about her body) would not be a negative thing.

Actually, Alizee is probably not the best example because it is just pop music and that is usually more dated because it doesn't bring anything in-depth or renewing enough to last for ages. But Alizee was launched by Mylene Farmer who also posed nude or semi-nude often enough but whose music had a very political message, and look at the result: even now she's close to 50 her fanbase is still impressive and the people listening are paying attention to what she's got to say. If Alizee would sing some songs that really move people, then I am quite sure her sex-appeal would become a background issue irrelevant to her music.

Basically she's a product-whore for the music industry. I feel sorry for her.
