Since the last thread died, I made a new one.

But now, one rule has been added: silent protagonists are NOT Aspies. They're just mute. (Unless they act like Aspies without any guidance from the player.)

Anyway, for my choice, it would have to be Victor Niguel from Trauma Center. Definite Aspie.

Sims. Turn on "Free Will" and put them in social situations.

'Nuff said.

As I've said before, Dr. Kleiner from Half-Life 2... he's a stereotypical Aspie... strange mannerisms, strange way of talking, and an obsession with scientific stuff which he frequently rambles on and on about. By extension, a lot of the generic scientists from Half-Life 1 could've been Aspies as well, since Kleiner is mostly based on them.

The scientist guy you meet towards the end of Crysis looked like he could be an Aspie... he at least had the shyness thing.

Norton Mapes, the overweight computer engineer from F.E.A.R. might also have been one, though he was probably just a jerk.

I don't think that game developers really take Asperger's into account when creating their characters, though... I think it's more along the lines of "Let's make this character a nerd/geek."

Yup, Cloud in particular reminds me some of myself. The only exceptions I can think of are Cecil (maybe) and Tidus.

Tidus is an exception to this? Good to know. I've never played the game but I picked him as an avatar cause he kinda looks like me, or at least i'd like to look like him. Plus he's in all these wonderful couple shots, sigh.

Cloud and Squall. However, Cloud does speak in the Advent Children film so the theory around him being an Aspie can be off a bit.
